angel hardly seemed to grieve at all...although i think that's cuz he didn't want to admit it to himself that she was really gone.

The writers never really showed Angel's greiving for Cordelia I mean he was barelly seen in the next episode, except for his past self, but that was it... As for Wesley it was the beginning of the end of his character. It's what brought him to the breaking point in the end of the series so the writers decided to go deeper into his emotional break down after Freds death... but I do honestly believe they both grevied for their loved ones. Espeically since Angel did cry in the end of You're Welcome after he realized Cordelia was really gone. :(

ah yes angel crying...i always cry when angel cries (unless it's something sappy that has to do with buffy lol) but pretty much anytime in his show when he's cries i cry. david is amazing!

Cordelia's death was sad true, but noting beats the sob fest that was Fred dieing in Wes's arms!

Okay so I pretty much think they were probably upset the same but that they just have different methods of grieving over it...I just had to pick Angel because I feel sad he never gets to be happy, well I mean he never gets to stay happy, the writers just refused to let him have anything good that lasted and I feel like he loved Cordy sooo much and to lose her was heartbreaking to him, and I agree with MelBelle2 about when he cried, and like spikes_girl said I cry like every single freakin' time he cried or teared up even (but not with Buffy either, LOL, I was never really a Bangel fan)...anyway I think they both loved their love and they both grieved the same, but well Angel was the first one I loved so I chose him...and everyone else chose Wes so...:(

I think Wesley took it far worse, because Angel at least had some time to get used to life without Cordy while she was in the coma. And then, before she died, he got to see her again and know that she was happy and going peacefully. But it was different with Fred, because she died slowly and painfully in Wesley's arms and he knew that she was afraid and wanted to stay with him. So while I think Wesley and Angel loved equally, it was worse for Wesley because of the circumstances in which Fred died.

Angel kinda accepted it where as Wesley couldn't let go for ages.

I agree with what xElvenPiratex said. It was worse for Wesley because he watch Fred suffer so much and there was nothing he could do to stop it. Cordy died peacefully and Angel knew that.

He has suffered so much loss...

Angel has experienced so much loss in his life, and he internalizes his pain (most of the time). Even though Wesley's stoic, he was a lot younger (heh) and more unstable. He had already gone through plenty of trauma, so losing Fred for good after completely giving into his feelings made him give up on hope for happiness. Given time, he may have recovered, but he didn't.

"Why can't I stay," still haunts me.

Wesley completely broke down after Fred's death. Angel barely reacted. Cordelia reacted more to Doyle's death, which wasn't listed as an option.
