We were first introduced to the mysterious 天使 in the Buffy premiere, "Welcome to the Hellmouth." A shadow was shown following Buffy into an alley, where she momentarily disappeared before swinging down and kicking the person in the back. Then we saw Angel, taking our breath away for the first time of many to come. 天使 told Buffy not to worry - he doesn't bite - and that he wanted what she wanted which is to "kill them all."
