It had been a year.

Been a 年 since Jasper had returned to Alice.

Been a 年 since Alice had found out Jasper wasn't dead.

It had only taken five 分钟 to decide to run away. Run away from all the war, all the conflicts, all the confusion... just so they could be together, just them, forever.

But, of course, nothing lasts forever.

He smiled to himself, thrilled that he could finally call her his but disappointed that no one was around to see it. Ryan had died. He had died the same time Jasper had supposedly died. Jasper had told Sophie himself. He had always believed that Alice would always be the first person to go to, but Sophie seemed like the right thing. Ryan had died. She didn't deserve to hear it over some megaphone.

"Hey!" Alice's chirp called again. "You coming 或者 do I have to catch myself?"

He chuckled to himself, reminding himself once 更多 how lucky he was, leaped up and ran after her.

No matter what happened, no matter how much heartbreak waited for them, Jasper knew at least one thing for certain:
