The 圣诞节 树 was in the corner of what would be your family room.
你 and Ponyboy had just bought a house together, and were pretty much broke. 你 hadn’t gotten furniture 或者 anything. Just you, 你 boyfriend, some blankets and pillows, and the 圣诞节 树 in the corner.
你 sit 由 the fireplace, having a beer, and look up at the 圣诞节 tree. There was just a strand of lights on it, nothing much.
” I have something for the tree.” Ponyboy says, smiling as he walks in.
“What’s that?” 你 ask.
He sits down beside you, and hands 你 a star. It’s old and rusted. It has little swirls and designs carved into it.
“It was my mom’s.” he explains. “Her grandpa made it for her. He told her that the 星, 星级 didn’t need to be shiny 或者 fancy 或者 anything, because 你 know baby 耶稣 wasn’t fancy 或者 anything. He was beautiful just the way he was.”
“It’s perfect.” 你 smile, and give him a quick kiss. “Now help me put it on the 最佳, 返回页首 of the tree.”
He stands up, and 你 jump on his back. He gives 你 a piggyback ride to the tree, where 你 place the 星, 星级 on top.
“Merry Christmas, babe.”
