Noctus was on his way to the city. He loathed having to go there, but it was something he had to do. Gatage was right: Noctus was terrible at welding his sword and the kasarigama staff.

The kasarigama staff is a scythe that can seoarate into interconnected segments. A scythe that can act like a scythe but can also act like a whip.

"While you're over there, try to see uf 你 can catch us this bounty," Noctus remembered Gatage saying. "His bounty is small, I know, but we can use the money if we want to 移动 up. Besides, we have to pay for staying at the academy and right now, anything can help." Once again, Gatage was right. He had two reasons for Noctus to go, and all Noctus could argue was "I don't want to go," which was clearly not enough at all to overpower Gatage's word.

Noctus arrived at the city but at night: his preferred time of 日 since it didn't kill his eyesight. The city was lively. Slow, but lively. Cars drove 由 leaving behind intoxicating smoke that made Noctus cough like a smoker. Building signs flared up the night sky and were the only real annoyance to Noctus' eyes. Noctus could barely read, but he could tell the difference between a barber 商店 and a department store.

Breaking the rhythmic noise of the night, the sound of breaking glass resonated in Noctus' ears. The sound came from a fairly close location, so Noctus, with Cadaveo at his side, went en route.

Cadaveo begame the Kasarigsms Staff upon Noctus' order and the two easiky scaled a building. Noctus then ran the rooftops, having a few close calls which were saved 由 Cadaveo. Once he reached the place where he thought he heard the sound, he saw several masked people. Noctus remembered the 照片 Gatage gave him, and confirmed one of the masked men to be the bounty head, only that all of them looked the same. Which one was the bounty head? All of them?

"Yes, all of them have the bounty. If 你 can capture all five of them, 你 will make Gatage a happy man," Sanae pointed out. She spoke truth, the voice inside Noctus' head. "But something seems wrong... something seems off..."

"What is it? Someone's hurt?" Noctus questioned.

"That could be, but your position it's too exposing, Noctus."

Realizing this, Noctus ran for the first sight of cover, but he was already spotted. He shouldn't have stood on... the edge of the building. Either way, he could have fallen. Regardless, the masked men began too run off, and Noctus have chase.

He jumped off a roof onto a telephone wire, and used it to 摇摆, 秋千 down to the floor. However, he couldn't make himself let go of the cable due to the electric shock. With Noctus and Cadaveo both paralyzed, it was up to Sanae to get the two down. She simply made the ground tremble enough for the pole holding up the wires to fall over, which they did so, and broke all other connected cables, stopping e electrical t.

Noctus and Cadaveo both recovered and realized that the bounties had escaped.

"Damnit! I shouldn't have chosen to 摇摆, 秋千 down with the cable. That was stupid on my part..." Noctus said.

"You were naive, but now 你 know not to every do that again. It all plays out for the better rather than the worse..." Sanae 说 trying to cheer up Noctus.

"If there ever will be a 下一个 time. Gatage is getting old, and I want him proud of me before he dies."

"Gatage has plenty of years before he does of old age, Noctus."

"Then I won't waste his time any more."

Noctud makes a dash for where he lat saw the bounty heads go. A peculiar whailing, however, rang in Noctus' ears, like the crying of a baby 或者 a child. The crying seemed to come from a fairly old building, as far as Noctus could tell. He went to investigate, though it was probably simply just his imagination.

"Sanae, what do 你 think?" Noctus asked.

"It's a child younger than what 你 were when our village was leveled. She will die unless we help her," she answered.

"Then I'll do what Gatage would."

Noctus went towards the sounds welding his sword just in case if someone was being attacked near the entrance of the building our inside it, and a little 狐狸 girl came running out, holding a crimson gauze to her left eye. Immediately, setting the sword in Noctus' hand, she made haste to run away, but Noctus gave chase. Though the girl tried to be elusive, making sharp turns in order to try to shake Noctus off her, but Noctus simply would't give in. The crying inside the building stopped only a few moments before the girl came out of the building, so she must've known what happened in there.

Eventually, the girl began slowing down her pace up until she inevitably stopped, feel flat on her face, and passed out.

"I finally got 你 now..." Noctus huffed to the unconscious girl.

"She's hurt, Noctus. Let me help her," Sanae pleaded.

Noctus approached the unconscious child and flipped her over, revealing the gauze on her eye. Carefully, he removed it, and saw an image of her eye that was gruesomely damaged. Glass impaled the lifeless pupil. The eyeball was imploded beyond repair. It had to be replaced, 或者 she would clearly bleed out, probably inducing a stroke.

As gentlely as sandpaper, Noctus ripped the eye out, and placed one hand on the bloody, empty socket. After several minutes, he could feel that the eye was now fully grown, though it seemed still lifeless.

"I can't say whether 或者 not the new eye will work," she 说 with a truthful grimness.

"At least she won't bleed to death," Nictus said, and put a finger across the nostrils of the girl. "She's still alive... but.I don't know if she 迷失 too much blood..."

"You'd better hurry back with her. She's not going to be 安全 here. 你 saw what this place dud to her."

"Okay, okay."

He hoisted the girl onto his shoulder, and began walked on back to the academy.

"The bounty heads will still be around, right?" Noctus asked Sanae.

"I think so. I don't believe they knew 你 were after the price on their heads, so they shouldn't be running off too far. The only way 你 couldn't get their bounty is if..." she tried saying, but trailed off, probably distracted.

"What, what is it?" Noctus asked, and then saw the sight as well. One man single-handedly.was carrying all five bounty heads, and all five were unconscious but alive.

"I shouldn't, should I?" Noctus inquired.

"Leave it be. We have 更多 important issues on our hands," she replied.

And with that, all three went home. 或者 at least they trief, until the offucials began 展示 up, investigating a child kidnapping case...
