Somehow I like the EU better. Don't ask me why! Besides, all the best football players of the world either come from Europe, or they play for some of the best European football teams, so, if the EU would ever have its own football team, they could beat the USA at least 4:2, if not 5:1!
I mean... a whole continent where many countries are great at the sport vs one country that hasn't really had the highest results? Doesn't sound that fair xD
@Rihanna312 The EU is so much more than a European continent. It is an ellite club of European countries, soon to become a state itself. We already have a very strong sense of European identity. In time, the EU would become a state, much like the USA. You may call it the United States of Europe, if you like, but that's the future. It is inevidable. The process of globalization can't be stopped or reversed. One day, the EU will have its own sovereignty and also an Olympic team for all the sports, including the (European!!) football. We already have 1 flag, 1 emblem, 1 anthem, 1 European Parliament, 1 European Commission... It is only a matter of time. Just wait and see, one day the entire European continent, except Russia, would be one single state, just like the USA today. I'm sorry the Americans can't play (European) football that well, but they have all other sports to be proud of.
@Zagi87 lol, why are you telling me this? I'm from Europe and I'm a pretty huge football fan myself. And while I agree that we have a pretty strong feel towards identifying as Europeans, I don't think there's gonna be a state or anything like that in the future if you look at the political side of EU. Europe consists of many countries and it would be very sad if so many nations would lose their own personal identity just to become this huge thing that actually wouldn't be the best- again - from a political standpoint. :)
