I thought I’d share with 你 all, the horrible event I just experienced only moments ago…
First off, I need to explain my terrifying fear of roaches and all insects. When I was really young, around three years old, I believe, I had a horrible nightmare. I still remember it as clear as day. I was sitting in my bedroom one evening when my parents decided to go to the 电影院 and leave me 首页 all alone. I was sitting there, depressed… when a bunch of roaches stated crawling into my room from under the door. I screamed and jumped onto my bed. 更多 and 更多 were seeping through until the whole door just caved in. They started pouring in as I bravely fled the room. I went outside with roaches covering my body. I started running down the sidewalk to catch up to my parents, but as 你 probably know, no matter how fast 你 run in a dream, 你 never seem to get any closer to your destination… Then it started raining. As the water rinsed all the roaches off of me, I found that they ate all my hair and my pretty red dress. I ran into my bedroom, dropped to my knees, and started crying… That was the moment, 17 years ago; that I woke up with the greatest phobia of roaches a lot of people have ever seen.

So yesterday morning, I woke up and went into the 厨房 and saw a huge roach standing, dead center, in the middle of the kitchen. I almost screamed, but held back. Instead, I went running. I went in 搜索 for a shoe big enough to complete this task of genocide, but in my panic, all I could find were flimsy crocs and imitation ballet flats, so it took me a while to find anything good enough. Once I managed, I went back to the kitchen, it was gone… I tossed my cat into the 厨房 just to be safe, but she just kind of yelled at me and hid behind the couch. I skipped breakfast that morning.

So this morning, I got up, with my awareness meter set to kill, I peeked into the 厨房 and saw nothing. I turned around to the front door and was it… lying on its back, right in front of the door… I slowly reached for the boom, proceeded, and hit it a little. It started wiggling and I screamed then ran away. I was kind of annoyed at it for tricking me into thinking it was dead. My other cat came by, I’m guessing to see what was going on. In my frantic haste to flee, I realized I tossed the boom. My cat went to go sniff it and make sure it was okay when he spotted the roach, still on its back, wiggling around. He thought it would be fun to bat it back and forth and throw it against the wall. I didn’t want him to hit the bug back on its feet so it could escape, so I reached for the 扫帚 to hit him. Not hard... just a little. As I raised the broom, my fear had come true and the roach dashed to the door and tried to squeeze under it. I did some 更多 jumping and screaming. The cat saw the 扫帚 and ran…

So there I was… staring at the door… the roach standing right up against it. Without losing my sight of the enemy, I managed to slip some shoes on (non-matching, I later noticed). I tossed the 扫帚 again in the midst of my 最近的 freak-out. I retrieved it and inched toward the roach. It wasn’t moving, though it appeared to be watching me. I opened the door and it ran! I hit it with the 扫帚 before it got far. As I lifted the broom, the roach was on its back again. I wasn’t fooled this time around. I opened the door wide and swatted it as hard as I could. The roach slid across the ground but got stuck on the door jamb. It tried to get away, so I prepped for an ever harder swing, released, and preceded with the greatest follow through in the history of any activity that requires swinging. That roach went flying. Not like a golf ball, but 更多 like an airborne hockey puck. It saw it land about 30 feet away from the door before I shut it.
Everything’s fine now.
True story.
