I'm sorry to hear this, my cat passed a while 以前 and this is what I did:
listen to lots of music
thought of the great times we had with each other
blew my nose a lot
and cried really hard until I ran out of tears
this may sound weird but I found listening to my 最喜爱的 音乐 helped me relax.
Remember it may feel like 你 will never get over it but some 日 你 will, I'm not saying 你 will forget about your special friend, neither have I, I am just saying that one 日 你 will stop crying think of the happy memories and smile :)
Eating a 最喜爱的 食物 may help too and watching a 最喜爱的 movie 或者 show.

Make a sexy party out of it.

my dog died 5 years ago, well all i do is let it all out on my room. i mean, like cry all the tears and the pains until i was enough..

My cat died to so fucking deal with it!
^ just kidding. My cat died a few months ago, what I did was put on my headphones crawled into 床, 床上 and ate 拉面 汤 for about 3 days. That semt to help.
