When you’re in prison, getting sleep is important. If 你 don’t sleep, you’re not alert. When you’re not alert, bad things happen. But when you’re sharing a bunk with Hans, sleep is darn near impossible. Why? Because he snores like a lawnmower.

Skipper laid there in the bottom bunk, staring a hole in the 最佳, 返回页首 one. He was wide awake, hadn’t had a wink of sleep. He never would have anticipated that he’d ever actually miss one of Julien’s all-night dance parties. He sat up, got out of bed, and tried to wake Hans up. “Hans!” He whispered. Hans was still sleeping. Skipper slapped him. Hans woke up shaking his head. “What the? What was that for?”

    “You’re snoring FYI.”

    “And I should care why?”

Skipper was so furious with him; he didn’t even care to hold back. He got up in Hans’s face. “You should care because I need my sleep. 你 should care because 你 owe me big-time. 你 should care because I will kill 你 if 你 don’t.” Hans looked at the rage in his eyes, and rolled his own. “Do I look like I’m kidding?” Skipper asked angrily.

“Fine. I will try. But I’m not making any promises.” Hans replied turning on his side. Skipper got back in his bunk and finally went to sleep.

Day 1

The 下一个 morning the buzzer sounded for wake up. Skipper got up sluggishly. The 床, 床上 wasn’t as comfortable as it looked, but at least he was able to tune out Hans's snoring. He splashed some water in his face when he realized Hans was still sleeping. He rolled his eyes, filled up the Styrofoam cup that was on the sink, and poured the cold water over his face.

Hans woke up and spat out water. “Time to wake up.” He 说 with no emotion to his voice.

Hans groaned and, forgetting he was in the 最佳, 返回页首 bunk, fell out of 床, 床上 to the cold, hard, concrete floor. Skipper once again rolled his eyes at Hans’s stupidity. When Hans got to his feet, the cell door opened. They stepped out and followed the flow of prisoners to mess hall. Breakfast certainly looked appetizing. The mush on their plates was supposedly fish. But they knew they couldn’t go on an empty stomach, so they forced themselves to eat it.

After breakfast, Skipper and Hans received their 橙子, 橙色 jumpsuits, along with having their mug shot taken. Following that, they went to the courtyard, Skipper turned to Hans. “Don’t follow me!” He ordered, he then turned around and stormed to the other side of the yard where there were some bleachers. He sat down and realized how baggy his 橙子, 橙色 jumpsuit was. He leaned back against the bleacher behind him and crossed his flippers. This is just great. After all these blasted years avoiding this place, Hans gets us busted. That stupid amateur should’ve seen it coming. Skipper thought. You trusted that ego-maniac Alastair and now look at where we are! Who knows what he’s doing to my men…or Eve… The moment he thought about her, her name seemed to echo through his mind.

He recalled when they were laughing and rolling in the snow. It was as if just remembering that moment he could feel her kiss. His thoughts were interrupted when three buff penguins came striding up to him. The one smoking a cigarette spoke first. “Hey boys, check out the new guy. ‘Drop on your head at birth Fish?”

Skipper looked at them through squinted eyes, suddenly self-conscious of his flat head. The smoker leaned 前锋, 期待 and spoke to him as if he were a three-year-old. “Aw, what’s wrong little man? Did I hurt your feelings?” He tried to lightly tap his cheek to emphasize how weak they thought he looked, but Skipper grabbed his flipper and twisted it; not enough to break it, just enough to make it hurt like hell. “Ow! What the hell!?” The smoker exclaimed.

“Listen pal, I don’t want to start anything with you. So I suggest that 你 get your sorry tail feathers away from me, along with your girlfriends there.” He threw his flipper down to his side just as the other two penguins, now offended and angry, took a step closer. The smoker stopped them. “Now, now. You’ll get your chance boys. Let’s go. And you, you’d better watch your back. Because I’ll be comin’ for you. It may not be this week, 或者 even this month. But I will give 你 what’s comin’ to you.”

“I’m trembling with fear.” Skipper 说 sarcastically. The other three penguins scoffed and left him. Moments later a guard came up to him. “You have a visitor.” Me? I have a visitor? Skipper thought. He was cuffed and led to the visiting room. On the way there many thoughts went through Skipper’s mind. Who is it? Could it be my men? Are they safe? 或者 Eve? Wrong, probably wrong, and wrong again. It was Alastair. He sat down across the 表 from him, glaring into his beady eyes. “What do 你 want?” He asked sternly. Alastair grinned.

    “I came to thank you.”

“For what? Practically handing 你 50G’s? You’re not welcome.”

“Oh come now Skipper, surely 你 saw this 日 coming.”

“Maybe I did, maybe I didn’t. That’s none of your business. What have 你 done with my men?”

“Don’t worry your ‘men’ are fine. They’re making excellent servants. Except for that crazy one with the Mohawk. He went a little nuts when we untied him so I had to lock him in high security.”

“I swear if 你 hurt any of them…” Skipper 说 angrily.

“You’ll what? Send a lightning bolt to strike me?”

“I’m gettin’ out of here one day. If I’m lucky, sooner. Then I’ll come kick your sorry ass.” Skipper couldn’t help but think about what he’d just said. If Private were here, he’d of asked Kowalski to cover his ears.

“Ooh, I’m shaking in my boots.” Alastair 说 chuckling evilly, amused with the obvious rage in Skipper’s expression.

“Just be lucky I’m handcuffed Alastair. You’d better get out of here before I completely lose my cool.” Skipper warned.

“Alright, I’ll leave. I guess I’ll see 你 in…what was it? Thirty years?”

“Don’t wait up. It’ll be sooner than 你 think.”

“Good luck with that. You’re going to need it!” Alastair left the room laughing like the scum he was. The guards led him back to the cell block. Once they’d removed the cuffs, he went up the stairs and into his cell. Oh how happy he was to see Hans was there sitting in his bunk. He rolled his eyes at the site of him.

“Where did 你 go off to then?” He asked when he walked in. Skipper sat in his own bunk. “None of your business.”

“Fine, don’t tell me. I was just trying to make conversation. It’s so boring here.”

“First of all, it’s your fault we’re here in the first place. Second, it’s not going to be as boring for long if we don’t play our cards right. Try not to make any enemies here.”

“Oh and 你 have room to talk? I heard Snake talking about you. He isn’t too fond of how 你 almost broke his flipper.”

“I know. And that was a mistake. But I can take care of myself. 你 on the other hand are too weak to handle these animals.”

“Weak?! What do 你 mean weak?!”

Skipper rolled his eyes and punched the bottom of Hans’s bunk as hard as he could. “OW!!!” Hans cried. “Why would 你 do tha…Oh just shut up Skipper.” Hans 说 realizing Skipper had just proved his point.

“How do 你 know his name is ‘Snake’ anyway?” Skipper asked in realization that he’d named the 企鹅 he encountered with earlier.

“One of the other inmates told me. Not all of the prisoners here are completely heartless 你 know. Some just made mistakes, and are paying for them.”

“Well that’s about the noblest thing I’ve ever heard 你 say.” Skipper 说 smart-alecky.

    “And your point is?”

    “Nothing. Forget it.”

“So when are 你 going to come up with a brilliant plan to get us out of this mess?”

“What do 你 mean us? I made the mistake of cleaning up your mess nineteen years 以前 and I am not going to make that mistake again. 你 deserve to rot in prison!”

“You can’t just leave me here!” Hans exclaimed hopping down from his bunk. “Watch me!” Skipper pushed past him and started walking away from the cell. Infuriated, Hans went out after him. Just as Skipper reached the bottom of the stairs, Hans pounced on him. Both of them tumbled to the ground. Skipper got to his feet, grabbed Hans be the 领, 衣领 and punched him hard in the jaw. Hans stumbled backwards and Skipper got in combat position, ready to block a return attack.

The other inmates had now surrounded them, shouting: “Fight! Fight! Fight!”

“Gladly!” Hans shouted. He reared his fist back and punched, but Skipper blocked the blow and flung him to the ground. Hans reacted in kicking out his legs, tripping Skipper. Hans got on 最佳, 返回页首 of Skipper and was able to 冲床 him twice before Skipper kicked him off.

Now there were guards pushing their way through the crowd of inmates. Once they reached them, they pulled them off of each other.

One of the guards—according to his nametag goes 由 ‘Manor’—stepped in between them. “Are 你 serious?! Your first 日 here and 你 already get in a fight? One 更多 screw up and you’re going to the hole!” The guards let them go and Skipper went to the other side of the cell block, trying to put as much distance between him and Hans as possible. He sat down on a bench and crossed his flippers, wiping off the small drop of blood that oozed out of the side of his mouth. “Hey Fish. 你 don’t look so happy.” Skipper rolled his eyes at the sound of Snake’s voice. “What do 你 want?” Snake sat down 下一个 to him, the other two just stood in front of them. “That was a mighty fine performance Fish. If those yellow-bellied guards hadn’t of gotten in the way…I think 你 would’ve won that fight.” His breath smelled of cigarette smoke; Skipper had to refrain from gagging. “Why don’t 你 just leave me alone?” Skipper asked trying not to look at him.

“Because, Fish, we could use someone like you.”

“For what?” Skipper asked the 问题 though he wasn’t sure he wanted to know the answer.

“I think 你 have what it takes to step up your class here in Vestre Prison. Look around Fish. The other inmates are just dying to take 你 on. Why? Because they know you’re strong. If they can take down the strong ones, they earn respect.”

    “I don’t fight for respect.”

“Well, why don’t 你 chew on this? If 你 don’t 显示 them what you’re made of, you’re an easy target. Everyone is gonna take their chance to pound 你 into paste. See ya ‘round Fish. Come on boys, let’s slide.” The three of them left him sitting there.

Hans, on the other hand, went back up to his cell. He punched the 墙 with the side of his fist as he entered and leaned against the sink. He looked at himself in the mirror. He already had a bruise on his right jaw from when Skipper punched him. Well that’s just great. The other inmates are just going to see me as mincemeat now! He thought. I can’t believe Alastair did this to me. I can’t wait to get out of this place…He’s going to regret he ever went back on our deal… I can't believe I've actually found someone I hate 更多 than Skipper... He splashed some water in his face and when his vision cleared he could see Skipper leaning against the entrance in the mirror. He took a deep breath before speaking.

“Not that I care about your well-being, but I’d watch your back with these inmates. 你 lose a fight then you’re seen as easy prey. Don’t get on their bad sides. Consider this a warning. You’re welcome.” He then laid down in his bunk in silence. Hans leaned back against the 墙 and looked at him. “You know there’s no way you’re going to get out of here without my help right?”

“I was willing to take my chances.”

    “Was?”

Skipper sighed. “Hans…as much as it kills me to say it…” He took a deep breath and closed his eyes. “I…need 你 to help me get out of this place.” To Skipper, saying those words were even worse than needles.

“Do 你 have a plan yet?”

“No…it’s not like I have the blueprints of the prison tattooed on my body.” Hans laughed sarcastically. “Heheheh you’re a real card.”

“Well it’s only been one day. I’m gonna need 更多 time to get a layout. And 你 could help 你 know.”

“Right. I’ll see what I can do. But we need to think of something fast. I hate it here.”

“How do 你 think I feel? And who do we have to blame for this?” Hans rolled his eyes. Skipper rolled onto his side. “Come on Hans! I wanna hear 你 say it once! ‘I screwed up!’ Just say it once!”

“I screwed up okay! I tried to get my revenge I and I screwed up. Happy?!”

“No, but that does make me feel better.” Skipper 说 angrily flipping onto his other side to face the wall.

That night, Skipper was able to tune out Hans’s snoring. But what he found was an endless sea of dreams about Eve. He could hear her voice. He could see her laughing eyes. He could once again see him and her fall into the snow kissing. That’s when he woke up. He rolled himself out of 床, 床上 and leaned against the cell bars. A movement caught his eye. Across the aisle to his upper left he saw Snake and his cellmate softly whispering to each other. Though he couldn’t 确认 it, he could swear he saw Snake mouth his name.

Reality;
Skipper woke up; he gasped and sat up straight. Unfortunately he forgot about the roof of his bed. “Ow!” He moaned, he shook his head and looked around. Determined not to fall asleep again, after 5 分钟 his eyelids became heavy and he rested his head on his 枕头 once more….The nightmare of a memory carried on…
The baby 企鹅 gasped as he saw the bottom of the ocean floor crack in 2, the man swam a little further backwards. A huge steel door appeared, it looked brand new. It sat flat on the ocean bed; there was some sort if a scanner which was meant for a hand on the side....

It's pretty cute. At least, I hope Ken was joking through most of that.
