The penguins had been together for awhile but nothing prepared them for this. It was a cool, brisk spring morning, when they were training.
"Alright boys, let's act cute and cuddly for our guests." Skipper suggested rubbing his flippers together.
It seemed to begin as a normal day, but in an instant it changed. Toppling over something, Private noticed there was a letter and picked it up.
"Skippah, I found something here." Private 说 anxiously.
"Kowalski, what do think?" Skipper questioned.
"It looks like a letter." Kowalski murmured examining the paper. Skipper shot Kowalski a "of course" look.
"fasguiksa" Rico added.
"Good idea, Rico! We'll get this translated 由 the chimps. Commence Operation: Letter!" Skipper ordered.
So the penguins headed to the chimp habitat in hopes to get their anonymus letter analzyed. Each 企鹅 had their own assumption of what the letter could mean. Private thought it would be, 或者 at least hoped it was the letter from the Lunacorn fanclub he'd been waiting for. Skipper's paranoina grew, jumping to the conclusion, that it was from a foe 或者 maybe a group of foes. Kowalski was hopeful that it was something having to do with an upcoming scientist convention. Rico desired 更多 explosives and imagined the note to be an offer for just that.
They finally arrived at the habitat.
"Chimps, we need 你 to translate this mysterious letter." Skipper demanded.
"Okay, give it here." Mason sighed reaching for the paper.
Once Mason opened it he began to read:
"Dear Private and friends, it's Nigel and I've come to the decision that I need extra help. In the events that took place during my last visit, I decided that I want Private to 加入 me. No offense to 你 other men, but in my opinion Private isn't getting to 显示 all of his potential. Please sign at the bottom of the page, Private and Skipper. P.S. Please, come alone. Sincerely, Uncle Nigel."
They all were shocked. Even Mason was flummoxed. The penguins walked back to the H.Q. in silence. Private looked exuberant, but he was the only one. Skipper already knew what his answer to Private would be if he asked to go.
There was no doubt in his mind that he wasn't going to say "No". When they got to the H.Q. every one acted like nothing happened and hoped nothing else would. All of them did this except for Private. He waddled up to Skipper, who was drinking his 鱼 coffee.
"Well?" Private asked sounding a bit irked.
"Well, what?" Skipper played coy.
"Can I go?" Private begged shining his big sorrowful blue eyes.
There was a long silence that filled the room. He didn't want to start a fight, but Skipper didn't want Private to go, either. He was worried for the little penguin. Sure he had gone on his own before, but the rest of the team had followed him. Skipper just couldn't stand the thought of loosing is 'Young Private'.
"No," Skipper 说 quickly biting his beak.
"What?!" Private gasped.
Disappointment filled the young penguin's face. Kowalski must have seen a fight coming on, because he whispered to Rico, who joined him in heading out the hatch.
