But I don't DISrespect them either. I feel like there's 2 different things - a performer and an artist. Performers are exactly that - performers. They put on a good, active, and fun live show. You don't necessary go to hear them sing live you go to see THEM. And an artist is someone who makes their lyrics, plays instruments, and/or sings live. But may not necessarily go to great lengths to have a fun live show. I feel that both have their qualities, and I love musicians who are both.

So long as they're decent people and they are passionate about their music anyhow.

I don't really mind. I think just because an artist does that doesn't always mean their any less passionate about music. It's just that sometimes after awhile it starts to become a bit redundant and old. Plus I can only take it in small doses before it starts driving me crazy. :))

Depends on whether or not they write the music themselves, and perhaps how much they need autotune.

Some performers might actually be quite musical and creative when writing, but may not be very good at performing live if they are not very strong singers. There are some people (usually teenagers from what I've seen) who can actually sing in tune just fine, but when performing they jump around or dance a lot and that wears them out. They then don't hit all the notes correctly because of this.

I'm not so keep when people are made famous despite not really having any understanding or even natural ability of music, when they need to be autotuned constantly and do not write any music themselves.

So I think I can respect some artists who are like this but not all of them.

So fake. There's so much unrecognized good talent that I can't stand famous pop stars who actually have no talent.

And I mean I can respect them as people still, if they're good at heart and are passionate, but definitely not as artists. Don't be a singer if you can't sing.

No, you should get into the music industry because you are musically talented. I find it unfair.

It doesn't seem to be about really singing anymore these days and that's sad. You don't have to sound old-fashioned to truly sing either. It might sound different from what's popular, but who cares. It's also pathetic if you can't sing live and mess up while lip-syncing lol...

Artists who constantly use autotune-No
Artists who aren't able to sing live-Yes and No

There are some talented artists who sing great in the studio but don't sing so great live. Because during live performances, the artist has to actually perform and move around on the stage at times, it's not always easy to hit all the notes correctly. But I admit that lip-synching is not so great and people who overuse autotune water down the quality of the songs.
