“House?” a voice from behind made House turn to see who was it. The old yet familiar voice brought not only 问题 in his mind but a cold feeling that ran downward along his spine. When he finally faced the person that he was certain that he knew, he was happy to know that it was Cuddy. After several years, he finally got the chance to she her again since her marriage to John, the marine soldier House treated in Season 3, since they moved to Michigan and stayed there for good. He walked towards her as she wears a smile.
House: <still in disbelief> I still couldn’t believe that you’re here in front of me…
Cuddy: <smiling> me neither. I stopped 由 Wilson and he 说 you’re here so I followed you.
House: Great. 你 hungry?
Cuddy: Not at all but I think this conversation will take a long time so a coffee may do.
They headed to a nearby coffee 商店 from where they were standing. At first, both were still too uneasy to ask the other about his/her life but at the time goes by, they were able to open up themselves again after several years.
House: So what brought 你 back here in Plainsboro? Work?
Cuddy: <after taking a sip from her coffee> Let’s just say I need a break from my work back home.
House: <smiling> Oh. So, how are the things working on between 你 and ----
Cuddy: John. <smiled> Well, we’re okay, we’re doing fine although sometime, we fight but c’mon, who doesn’t?
House: Uh-huh. ---- Any kids yet?
Cuddy: <her face saddened but still managed to smile> We have no luck on it. We tried almost all ways to have our own but still --- <they’re silent for a while> So, how’s your leg?
House: <looking at his limp> Still the way when 你 left the hospital. Still painful but Vicodin is the one keeping my feet on the ground. <he looked at her again and they’re quiet again>

Wilson: You’ve seen Cuddy? <House nodded> How far have 你 guys have gone?
House: <sighed> Nothing much. She did all the talking as I sat down ---
Wilson: Still impressed, bedazzled and --- hurting.
House: No I’m not. Even if I am, I can’t wreck the marriage she have right now. She’s happy with that idiot and there’s no way to take her back.
Wilson: Yah expect for the fact that Cameron and I met last week and we’re talking about Cuddy’s divorce.
House: <looking surprised at Wilson> Wha – There’s no divorce. She’s happy. They’re doing fine.
Wilson: Cuddy’s here in Plainsboro to file it. Just to make the process easy, she file it here since they’re married here.
House: She’s fine. Maybe leave in a week 或者 two back to Michigan to work again.
Wilson: Fine. Maybe you’re right, maybe we’re right. Either way it won’t change anything, does it?
House was silent and didn’t bother to answer. He knows Cuddy so much that he ended up believing that she’s perfectly happy with her husband but in some parts of his 心 are intentions to believe in what Wilson had just 说 before him.
Two weeks had passed but House can still see Cuddy around the streets of Plainsboro. He gave a thought that maybe she’s staying here for a 月 but soon he realized he was wrong. It was on this late afternoon when House learned the truth. They were silently seated on a bench in the park for almost an 小时 but they haven’t gone far aside from talking about their good old days as co-workers. House noticed the smile of Cuddy but he knew behind them were tears about to fall.
Cuddy: I miss 你 <House looked at her> for being a pain in the ass. <He smiled> I miss the way 你 storm in my office urge me to approve medical procedures just for 你 to solve your puzzle. <sighed> Sometimes I wanted to ask myself, why would I allow 你 to break in an MRI machine, bicker a patient 或者 harass them until they make the right choice but whenever 你 save a life, I have no 更多 问题 to ask. But even if I wanted to go back here, I can’t. <Cuddy stood up facing the man-made lake and House looked at her>

Cuddy: Do what? <he moved closer>
House: You’re not happy in Michigan with John.
Cuddy: House ---
House: Knock it off, I know you. Why stay there and suffer if 你 can go back here ---
Cuddy: And what? --- What made 你 say I’m not happy with my husband?
