AMC has made the most of the zombie apocalypse craze with
. The parent show is based on an ongoing comic series, but
has no source material for guidance. Fans just aren\'t able to read ahead and try to guess what\'s coming next for Maddie and Co. in the early stages of the end of the world. According to
co-creator Robert Kirkman, however, fans are actually lucky that there are no
comics to direct the plot. Here\'s what he has to say about the lack of comics for
Because it does not strictly follow the comic book, some characters have more or less time based on the fans\' reactions. It makes work more enjoyable.
Robert Kirkman shared his thoughts on why it\'s good for fans that there are no
comics during an appearance at San Diego Comic-Con (via the Swedish site Aftonbladet). His perspective on giving fans what they want makes sense, considering some of his past comments about

is still relatively young, so it\'s hard to say what changes may have already happened based on fan reactions. The entire first half of Season 2 was ready by the time the first episode premiered; the second half will be the soonest we get to see if the series feels much different after the ship shenanigans that kicked off the season. Even the trailer didn\'t have enough footage for us to do too much guesswork beyond who might die before Season 3. The cast is certainly big enough that a character or two could be killed off. Depending on what fan reactions Robert Kirkman and the other folks behind the scenes have seen, a big death may be looming.
Luckily, we don\'t have to wait too much longer to see what will happen next for the not-so-merry band of survivors. The second half of
Season 2 hits the airwaves on Sunday, April 10 at 9 p.m. ET on AMC. Check out our fall TV premiere schedule to see when you can expect your other favorite shows in the near future.
