This part of my link details how 你 can format text in your postings on Fanpop, and the 文章 was last edited (to fix typographical errors) on 17 July 2013.

TEXT FORMATTING
Those of 你 who have written soapbox 文章 before may have seen the guide that 潮流粉丝俱乐部 provides for formatting text. But maybe you've never written a soapbox 文章 或者 never noticed the key, and have been wondering how some users manage to make their text 更多 interesting. With these tags, 你 can:
* boldface your text
* put your text in italics
* underline your text
* have your text point to a different 网址 link

Soapbox authors can also use 标签 to embed pictures into the bodies of their articles. But what not many users realize is that all of these 标签 - with the exception of the image embedding - can be used in other places on Fanpop.

HOW TO FORMAT YOUR TEXT
If 你 are familiar with hypertext markup language (HTML), the 标签 will seem pretty familiar to you. Let's assume for a moment that you're not familiar with HTML tags, though.

In order to format any of the text 你 type on Fanpop, 你 need to include a start tag at the beginning of the text 你 want to look different, and then put a close tag at the end of the text 你 want to look that way.

For example, in regular HTML, there is a thing called the "blink" tag (which is very annoying and should never be used in a serious web page - I offer it here only as an example). Simply put, any text marked with a blink tag (in normal HTML) will blink on and off, like a fluorescent light when the power is first applied. In HTML and the 潮流粉丝俱乐部 markup 标签 alike, 你 apply 标签 like this:

1) 你 type a special symbol to indicate to the system that a tag is starting. In HTML, this tag is the < 或者 "bracket" symbol. On Fanpop, it is the [ 或者 "square bracket" symbol.

2) Then 你 type the name of the tag. In our example, the word "blink" is the name of the blink tag. On Fanpop, 你 have the following basic tags:

b
i
u

3) After the name of the tag, 你 insert the opposite bracket symbol: > in HTML, ] on Fanpop.

These 标签 indicate where the formatting should start, so 你 place it to the left of the first word 你 want formatted in that way.

Thus, the text <blink> in an HTML file would indicate where the text should start blinking. But now that you've put in the start tag, how do 你 put in the end tag, which tells the system where to stop that text formatting? Like this:

A) 你 type the same sort of bracket: < in HTML, [ on Fanpop.

B) 你 indicate that the tag is a close tag 由 using the 前锋, 期待 斯莱什 key: /

C) 你 insert the name of the tag just like in the start tag.

D) 你 close with the opposite bracket: > in HTML, ] on Fanpop.

The close tag should come immediately after the text 你 want to format, so that the start tag and close tag enclose the text 你 want to format.

If 你 wanted the text to say "This is blinking!" in HTML, for instance, 你 would write:

<blink>This is blinking!</blink>

If 你 want to write an explanation of your low rating on a picture ("Sorry, but this pic is really dull!"), 你 could write it like this:

Sorry, but this pic is really dull!

...which would look like this:
Sorry, but this pic is really dull!

或者 你 could write it like this:

Sorry, but this pic is really dull!

...which would look like this:
Sorry, but this pic is really dull!

INSERTING UNIFORM RESOURCE LOCATORS (URLs)
Those are what I call the three "basic" text formatting tags:
boldface
italics
underline

But, as I mentioned earlier, 你 can also embed URLs into your text. The tag name is "url", and the 标签 work the same way, except that 你 also need to provide the actual 网址 of the site to which 你 want to link. 你 then put this link in the start tag with an "equals" sign. The close tag is unaffected.

For example, if 你 wanted to link to the Neverending Story 论坛 game on Fanpop, 你 would take the link link and put it in the start tag, to read like this:
, then type the text 你 wanted to be that link, then the close tag: . In that way, 你 could write something about link and continue on without cluttering up the post with a long URL.

People know that they can click on links, and will do so if they're curious. Note to users seeing these hyperlinks, though: if 你 have any reason to be suspicious of a link that someone has posted, most browsers will let 你 see the 网址 without clicking on the link, but just hovering the 老鼠, 鼠标 cursor over the link. Then 你 can read the 网址 and judge whether it feels 安全 或者 not. Some 链接 (www.spamspamspamittyspam.com?counter) are going to seem suspect, and so 你 shouldn't click on them.

Three things of interest for placing these 链接 on Fanpop:

i) The 网址 should be absolute. This means that 你 should include the link at the beginning. This may not be necessary for all browsers, but it is good practice for people using older browsers, who would be unable to resolve a link like "fanpop.com" over "http://www.fanpop.com"

ii) In case it isn't obvious, the 网址 can be any URL, not just a 潮流粉丝俱乐部 one. That way, 你 can point to link.

iii) If 你 want to reference a particular passage from a particular thread of a particular forum, 你 can link to the 给 page of that forum. For instance, 你 could point to link, which is just the 最佳, 返回页首 page of that forum, leaving the user to read through multiple pages to get at the end 或者 any page in between, 或者 你 could point to link, if 你 wanted to reference, say, link's mention of Mrs. Doubtfire (or anything else on that page).

The way 你 do it is simple: just insert /, then the number of the page, then a # and then "comments" after the 网址 of the base 论坛 thread. In the example above, we started with link's movie titles game: link.
Then, to point to page 4 of the thread, we added /4#comments to the end of that, making link as the 网址 to point to page four of that thread.

Finally, I should note that, if 你 don't want to substitute text for some obscure URL, 你 can still just type the URL, and 潮流粉丝俱乐部 will recognize it as an 网址 and will format that text for 你 as a link (see the link and www, above: a link that points nowhere - my apologies to any users who actually clicked on that!)

WHERE 你 CAN USE TAGS
All this is well and good, but where can 你 use these 标签 on Fanpop? The most obvious place is in soapbox 文章 like this one. But, 你 can also use these 标签 in any 评论 box on the site, which includes 论坛 thread postings, responses to 论坛 threads, and 评论 on videos, links, images, picks, and articles. Basically, if the content is already there and 你 want to post a comment, 你 can do it with tags.

WHERE 你 CAN'T USE TAGS
你 can't use these 标签 in the titles 或者 descriptions of anything 你 add to Fanpop: links, articles, videos, images, 问题 或者 their picks. Basically, if 你 are adding content to the site, 你 cannot format the name 或者 the 描述 of the content with tags. 你 can take some comfort in the fact that 你 can immediately 评论 on your addition, and in that 评论 你 can use tags, though.

A WORD OF CAUTION/BEST PRACTICE
So, now 你 know how to format your text to be 更多 interesting, and carry greater emphasis than just putting *asterisks around words*! But realize that too much emphasis can quickly get to be annoying, much like the <blink> tag I mentioned earlier: use that on an HTML page these days, and 你 will get pilloried. Much like TYPING IN ALL 锦标 FOR EXTENDED PERIODS, using too much boldface, italics 或者 underlining only annoys people, so use these items with moderation. Two final things to keep in mind:

a) Remember to always use a close tag to stop whatever text formatting 你 start (if 你 don't, the entire contents of your posting will be formatted for emphasis after the start tag)

and

b) Try to stick to a conservative ratio of emphatic 或者 formatted text to regular text, like no 更多 than 10% of what 你 write should be formatted as bold/italic/underlined, 或者 linked to a different URL. Doing otherwise will likely get 你 reported 由 your fellow 潮流粉丝俱乐部 users.

With all that said, enjoy!

Kathiria82
First of all, I would like to ask why people keep giving Kathiria82 a hard time? None of 你 have any reason to keep hating on her. she is a nice person and cares about everyone. I think she deserves to be treated just as nicely as everyone else does, especially when she has made the all around most contributions on Fanpop. people keep going to her spot to say how its not fair that she has a spot. It is fair. There are spots for people on 潮流粉丝俱乐部 that no one has ever even heard of and if they can keep theirs, Kathiria82 sure as h*ll can. She has 发布 nearly 3,000 links, over 5,200 videos,...

Learn to 爱情 and not hate
Learn to love and not hate
This was originally going to be an 文章 on all sorts of hatred, discrimination and prejudice. But then I had something horrible happen to me online this morning, and I decided that I was going to focus on one, simple, hate.

Homophobia.

In my experience, it's absolutely horrible. So in this article, I'm going to discuss why 你 should put a stop to it, and just go through a couple of small anecdotes, expressing to 你 how hateful, horrible and mean it can be.

Anecdote One
Blind Homophobia
When I was a wee sixth grader (okay, it was only two years 以前 but still, I was even shorter than I am...

First and for most I intend no offense here. I suppose 你 can also call this 文章 'Why Maturity Is Important'. I don't hate 或者 even dislike 12 and under users. So please don't get the wrong idea.

First and foremost I agree with it for the simple fact that rules are rules. There's an age for a reason.

And rules are usually in place for safety. In this case it isn't so much physical safety as it is mental safety. I have seen a vast array of young users who couldn't have been older than 8 post 图片 of themselves all over. Okay, that's their choice, but it is a little dangerous. I don't...

Hello =)

Sit down, shut up and listen to my (pretty much) unnecessary but still quite fun idea #401.
You may laugh afterwards.
But now...Silence and pay attention!

Disclaimer: Yes I admit it, I didn't come up with this idea on my own, I saw something similar years 以前 on a german website.

Here we go...
POPCOINS
Popcoins are virtual 潮流粉丝俱乐部 money.
The idea came to my mind when I was thinking about a possibility to change one's username without being able to change it all the time and without having to pay real money.

This is how popcoins would work:
There would be a popcoin symbol right 下一个 to where the...
