“If a clock could count down to the moment 你 meet your soul mate, would 你 want to know?”
The rain beaded off the 最佳, 返回页首 of the building as it picked up from a soft drizzle to a hard downpour.
“I 爱情 the rain.” 说 a sweet calm voice from a old women in a hospital bed, she was hooked up to the machines 下一个 to her. She looked like worn down paper that had been used to many times, her hair was white and thin and there was little of it, and the light in her grey green eyes almost gone. The was many people sitting around in the the small white room, they all looked sad and tired like they had been working all day.
“Grandma, why do 你 爱情 the rain so much?” Asked a little girl who looked no 更多 then ten years old, with curly light brown hair and green eyes. She was sitting 下一个 to the window which was close to the bed.
The old women took a 秒 to catch her breath and then said, “Because it’s peaceful,” She looked out the window and smiled gently.
“Grandma are 你 going to be with Grandpa soon?” Asked the little girl again still looking outside the window, everyone in the room looked up at the women wondering if she would answer 或者 not.
“Yes dear, I think I am.” The old woman looked around the room at the sad faces looking back at her, 你 could tell 由 the look in her eyes that she to was sad. “Ivy, did I ever tell 你 how me and Grandpa met?”
“No 你 didn’t?” The little girl looked back at her, her green filled with wonder.
“Would 你 like to hear the story?” Asked the old woman sitting up a little, Ivy got up from her chair and sat 下一个 to the old women on the 床, 床上 and nodded. The women took a deep breath before starting. “It was on a 日 like any other day, I got up and got ready and went to school,I was fourteen and it was my eighth grade year...”
~ ~ ~
I had started my 日 like another, I had gotten ready and was making my way to school with Olivia my best friend since fourth grade. As we walked down the road, since the school was every close she was talking my ear off as alwaysabout some Maxie guy, who she had met and talked to at the fair last weekend. This boy talk was normal for Olivia, since her and every other girl in the school was boy crazy. It seemed like every week there was a new boy to talk about, first there was Alex, then Josh, 下一个 came Max, and then Ethan and of course now Maxie, who to me seemed every plain and normal like all the other guys. I really wasn’t interested in boys at this time because really none them were really my “type” it you’d like to call it that. As we arrived at school we walked into together like always and we made are way to are lockers, but as I opened my locker to grab my binder something fell out onto the floor. It was a little green bracelet with yellow and blue shitching. As I picked up to grab it I felt a little piece of metal and glass, so I turned it around and on the other side there was a clock that said, “0000 d 04 h 08 m 26 s” I looked at the bracelet puzzled because it didn’t seem like a normal clock and 更多 like a timer, wrapped around the bracelet was a piece of paper that said, “If a clock could count down to the moment 你 meet your soul mate, would 你 want to know?”
Most people would have thought it was some type of trick played 由 there 老友记 but as I looked around to see if some of mine were giggling at me 由 a near 由 locker, but they weren’t no one was looking at me as normal. I was always invisible at school because no one really ever noticed me, I was really nothing special to look at I looked like the other girls, but they all say I was shy and I didn’t talk much. Which was true because i didn’t talk much, but that was because no one ever talked to me expect Olivia and a few others.
So I turned my attention back to the bracelet and it’s clock, the clock kept on counting down 由 秒 and minutes. I unrolled the piece of paper and through it on the floor and clipped the bracelet on my wrist to see if it was the right size and it was, it fit me perfectly. I had 迷失 track of the time as i was looking at the bracelet and the 钟, 贝尔 rang before I had gotten my things, so I quickly grabbed my binders and 图书 and headed to class because if I was late again my teacher 说 he would write me up.
For the rest of the 日 I had forgotten about the bracelet because it didn’t 交叉, 十字架 my mind once. When I finally did remember the bracelet and looked at my wrist the time on the clock was 000 d oo h 03 m 45 s. My 心 jumped at little as I saw how low the time was, not knowing what was going to happen when if finally reached 0. I thought of things that could happen, like me winning something, 或者 my 老友记 popping out of know where and saying it was a trick, 或者 that I might gain super powers and become really strong 或者 be able to fly. It didn’t 交叉, 十字架 my mind that it could be when I’d meet my soul mate like the piece of paper said.
One minute, 38 seconds.
For some reason my hands began to shake, and they become sweaty and I didn’t even know why they were, but they were.
One minute, 29 seconds.
The 钟, 贝尔 rang and everyone got up from there chairs to leave classes, and I went along with them out into the hall. I glance around at the crowd of people around as the group of people made their way down the hallway.
One minute, six seconds.
I walked in the crowd as well and thought, something amazing is about to happen. Maybe.
54 seconds.
There was so many people around me and it was hard to see.
30 seconds
I kept on walking though and it felt as if something was pulling me to go forward.
25 seconds
It felt like my stomach had dropped but I kept on walking.
20 seconds
I started to walk faster.

“Mom..” 说 a woman sitting across from her, “Are 你 ready to see Grandpa again?” Her voice sounded shaky and sad, like she had wanted to cry but was holding it in.
The old women waited a 分钟 and then slowly nodded her head and smiled softly as her eyes began to close.
