Of all the princesses here, I must say. Her original "part of that world" song is pretty somber, and all because her dad yelled and said "no" to her. The other princesses brush themselves off and find the joy out of worse scrapes than that.

Um. I never do understand the "least optimistic," "least feminist," polls. I never get what the right answer is.

I can agree with Tygers_Eye that Ariel is a princess with a lot of depression. Her dad is pretty hard on her all of the time, forbidding her to explain her reasoning, and telling her she's forbidden to do this and that. Rapunzel suffers the same lot under Gothel, so I think it's a tie.
