'Chagrin' means 'annoyed, disappointment, etc.' So... 'Her face flushed with chagrin' means 'Her face flushed with annoyance'? Whew....

^ I'm slowly 阅读 Midnight Sun now just because and I've already bumped into the word a few times. It's made me cringe. I'm not entirely sure, but I think I read both "chagrin" and "chagrined" on the very same page.
