She might be asking if it would be a sin to do it, since in the Old Testament (in Leviticus, if I remember correctly) it was forbidden because piercings were done either as a sign of worship to a pagan god 或者 to claim ownership of someone and make them a slave. That really wouldn't apply anymore though, since piercings are simply for decorative purposes these days :D
