You're right. taking the lord's name in vain is a sin, but that doesn't mean that they are "The worst" it just means they don't know God. so, try and have some grace, and lead them to God, instend of profiling them, that is our job here on earth, don't 你 agree?

I agree with 你 (peterslover). Although sometimes I might use oh my gosh 或者 OMGosh; I can't stand it when people actually use God's name.
My personal unfavorite is when people use 耶稣 Christ like it's a cuss word. I hate hearing OMG, but this is what gets my blood boiling.

你 are not alone. Taking the Lord's Name in vain has always bugged me as well. I despise it and would never slander 耶稣 in such a despicable, needless manner.

I dislike it when people spell out "OMG" with "God" as opposed to the 更多 appropriate "Gosh", and see it as unnecesary and downright stupid. Why do it?

I have and always will prefer "ZOMG" (pronounced ZOM-GUH), which does not have any form of acronym 或者 connections to God. It was derived from "OMG" for the exact purpose of not insulting Him.

Now, adding an "F" to the already distasteful acronym raises it to a whole new level of blasphemy. It's not just God's name in vain. I can handle "OMG". It's docile enough and is up to the sinner, I guess. Yet, it's outright blasphemy when a man adds such a phrase as the F-word in. "OMG" can be excused, but with the F-word, the one who uttered it intentionally sought to offend those around him 或者 her.

Of course, that doesn't come CLOSE to the GD-phrase. Worse than the F-word and trumping even this filth, the GD-phrase beats it hands down. Combining the name of the very dieity I have 给 my soul to in a Relationship with the D-word equals one nasty and disturbing slander of Jesus.

In case you're wondering, 由 the way, my euphamisms of choice when suprised 或者 angered are "GRAVY!", "MUSHROOM!", "MUSHROOM STICKS!", "GAH!", "GOODNESS!", "OH MY GOODNESS!", and at 更多 rare times, "DRAT!" and "CRUD!". My family rules seem to allow "crap" to be said, and they say it 更多 than me. I use it sparingly, as I consider it the worst "swear" word in my book.

I take pride in the fact that I have never, not even once, 说 a swear word.

I agree with you, I hate when people swear and cuss. I did do pole one time to see if it bothered anyone else, and very few other people seemed to mind. I've always just 说 stuff like "gosh", "dang", shoot", "frick" ect.

I feel the same way! My 老友记 say it all the time and they act like its the LORD's fault for what they have done! Don't get me wrong I try to help them as much as possible but I have to constantly remind people 'God didn't do this to you'

I don't say it, I say 'oh my gosh'. I don't mind when people say OMG, it's just that I prefer not to. I just don't like swearing at the best of times. Although I've never thought about it before, saying a swear word and 'God' in the same sentence isn't very good.

Taking God's name in vain is definitely heart-wrenching. I hate it when 你 step outside and the words 你 hear most are "OMFG!" Ugh...I feel like whoever says that personally tortures me. The sad thing too is that 你 hear OMG 或者 OMFG in Church, God's holy place :[

im guilty of using OMG and its derivitive ZOMG in comments, but only if i was pleased with something, never as a curse. is it the same to say OMG as a compliment(like if somebody posts a picture of a cute kitten and somebody else says "OMG that is sooo cute!!!", as opposed to "OMG that group sux!")or is it just as bad?i never say omfg though, not that i can remember off the 最佳, 返回页首 of my head

I agree completely. I can't STAND it when people say it, but unfortunately people say it constantly where I live. I always want to scold people for it, but I know they might start to say it 更多 just to annoy me. All I can say is that it's their problem if they choose to use God's name in vain like that, and they'll learn sooner 或者 later...

I totally agree about the one with the F word in it (it’s totally disrespectful and it makes me angry) but I don’t understand the OMG one, why is it considered a cuss word? Is it because the way is used? It has the words “my” and “God” in it, if I remember correctly is a song that says “My God is an awesome God”. Is that OK? Can anybody explain? I admit that I sometimes say OMG but I don’t mean it in a bad way – if I say it when I’m scarred 或者 when I’m exited about something it just feels like it brings me closer to Him. I also use OM Goodness and I know this is accepted 由 everybody. God bless 你 all

OMG 或者 "Oh my God", is not offensive to God. HOWEVER, OMFG which is "Oh my f****ng God," well THAT IS Offensive to God, and IS using his name in vain. But simply OMG is not offensive in any way. When people use the OMFG, THAT bothers me too. However, people on Earth DO KNOW BETTER than to use God's name in vain. And one day, THEY WILL have to answer to EVERY TIME they used His name in vain. Their Judgement is for THEM to worry about... NOT mine, 或者 yours.

I think there is an enormous difference in taking the Lord's Name In Vain with the GD-word, swearing for no reason and with His name is a curse (thus called "curse word"), but "OMG" 或者 Oh My God!- no, He IS my God, and I am quite pleased about that fact. I say "My Goodness," too, 或者 "For Heaven's Sake" and like that better than damning myself 或者 someone. So I see no problem with "MY God" because He is. Context...meaning, there is no offense to Him. The F-word used in simultaneous usage is a rather mixed plate that contradicts, but Christians are flawed beings. I do not use that (omfg), but so many people do not realise the power in words 或者 that they can mean something.

So, as I said, in part I disgree...just for me, I am alright with knowing what "My God" means for me and my use of it.

I go into a complete state of shock whenever I hear somebody say the 秒 one. I always think "where did that come from?" and I always tell them "YOU CAN'T SAY THAT," It just breaks my heart. ;'(

To be honest, i sometimes accidently say OMG, because of mistakes i make, but 更多 often I say Gosh and i still believe in God and I never say OMFG.

I HATE THAT!!! Its been really getting on my nerves lately. And whenever I would hear my 老友记 say it I would make them say gosh. I dont play when it comes to JESUS!

What bothers me is that people think that words for the retarded, 或者 gays, are terrible, but don't even consider religious cuss-words as wrong even though it ALSO insults an entire culture.

I know a youtuber that censored Nostalgia Critic reviews so that they're suitable for the public, but he doesn't censor anything using God's name in vane.
