It turns out DJ Tanner didn\'t marry her high school sweetheart Steve, but a second chance at love may still be in the cards for the "Full House" couple when they reunite in the new Netflix series, "Fuller House."

Candace Cameron Bure, who played the eldest Tanner daughter, argues that not everyone marries their high school boyfriend, but she opens to renewing that relationship with Scott Weinger\'s character. DJ went on to marry another man who gave her two sons before he left her a young widow.

"I\'m rooting for it, I can tell you that. I think the fans would love it and I would love it too." Candace Cameron Bure told Headlines & Global News at the Hallmark Networks Party for the Television Critics Association summer press tour.

The original "Full House" stars also welcomed a new cast member this week as they started production on the new show. Eva LaRue will play Danny Tanner\'s (Bob Saget) new wife. Bure had to stay mum on her new TV stepmom ("Netflix will give me more than a slap on the wrist if I answer that"), but affirmed that everyone on set is wonderful.

"It has been beyond fun and I\'m having an amazing time. None of us want this to end," she said. "It\'s going to be great... It\'s funny and carries the same tones from the original show which I think the fans will be really happy about. It\'s better than we could have ever expected."

With the news on Tuesday from Netflix CCO Ted Sarandos that Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen were "teetering" on their decision to join "Fuller House," Bure would still love to have the twins reprise their role as little sister Michelle Tanner.

"I hope they come back. It would be amazing and we would all love it," she said. "But we do understand if they choose not to. They haven\'t been acting for the last 10 years, but I think it would be great if they did. We\'re all rooting for it to happen."

Candace Cameron Bure recently starred in the Hallmark movie "Aurora Teagarden Mystery: Real Murders" with Marilu Henner.

Before starting "Fuller House," Bure headed to Vancouver to shoot her new Hallmark movie, "A Christmas to Remember." She stars opposite Paul Greene in the heartwarming holiday comedy about a young relationship columnist who learns a surprising lesson about love when her holiday flight to New York takes an unexpected detour.

Before taking the role, Bure checked in with Greene\' s previous co-star, Danica McKellar, who she competed against on "Dancing with the Stars" in 2014.

"I actually texted Danica when [Hallmark] told me [about the role] and asked how she felt about Paul Green being my leading man," Bure said. "I texted her right away and asked, \'How\'s Paul? Give me the scoop?\' She had very kind words to say so I said, \'Okay.\'"

Production on the movie got off to a rough start when Bure had to postpone the start due feeling very ill. Once on set, the two actors fell into an easy rhythm.

"It really didn\'t take long to warm up to each other," she said. "Paul is so nice and genuine that I actually though it was fate. I was really waiting for him to crack at some point, like he might snap at someone, but he never did snap. Once I realized he was the real deal, it was love."

"A Christmas to Remember" will premiere this holiday season on the Hallmark Channel. Netflix will start streaming "Fuller House" in 2016.
