Kate’s Revenge Part 1 - Continuation of the Kate’s Hunting Trip series (In ridiculous COD6 Style)
Note to readers: Sorry if 你 don’t like COD 或者 “Cock of Doody” as some may have dubbed it, but my knowledge on Halo is sadly limited, also the names of the weapons I chose are NOT from COD (I actually tried to use proper terminology, but there will be references and kill streaks from it. Sorry if there isn’t much humor along with bad storytelling (I'm a terrible writer and I whipped this up in like 2 或者 3 hours).
Previously on the discontinued “Kate’s Hunting Trip” series; Humphrey was KIA while engaging in a hot extraction of his wife and hostage Kate. Some 随意 ugly timber 狼 called Bella threw a projectile that pierced his 心 and killed him (for 更多 details read katealphawolf's "The fight and the loss" 或者 read the part where Sirius died in Harry Potter 5). Kate, while fighting along with her rescuers, witnessed her husband fall. Now back in the haven of the W.U.E.W. (Wolves United East and West) Kate burns with hatred towards this Bella and wants nothing 更多 than revenge for her husband’s death. Little did she know, trouble was again brewing in the outskirts of their territory.
*Crunch* A twig snapped as it was crushed under a huge grizzled paw. “Heh heh, guess who’s back girly.” Marvell muttered to no one in particular. They had come back with the southern terrorist cell of timber wolves.
“Got her mate last time didn’t I? He didn’t look too pretty after I got him,” Bella sneered, “Now I think I’ll finish her off too.”
“Think I’ll get a bite 或者 two myself?” Scorch asked hopefully. The scene fills with an APC in an escort of grizzled timber 狼 as they crept towards the valley they were chased from just a week past.
Kate was dozing at the entrance of the 巢穴, den, 书房 she had shared with Humphrey. She was dreaming about her mate. In her dream she and Humphrey were together again. A group of enemies was rounding the corner and they were stuck without cover. Humphrey pushed Kate behind him with one paw and raised his carbine. He fired a shot from his attached grenade launcher and blasted the ground right where the enemy just appeared. The explosion seemed to have taken them out. Humphrey turned and smiled reassuring at Kate. But over his shoulder a figure rose and pointed a blurred shape at Humphrey. Kate opened her mouth in a silent scream as the figure came into focus in the shape of Bella.
“Kate KATE!”
“Mmmm?”
“Kate wake up! You’re having a bad dream.” The hazy outline of Garth came into view. The sun was about to set and it darkening outside. Garth stared hard at Kate, “Are 你 ok? 你 look a bit pale.”
“I’m fine, really…” In the week ensuing Humphrey’s death, Kate had been in a depressed state; she was unable to lead the pack so Garth and Lilly had to temporarily run things. Kate got up and walked slowly towards the shaded area where Humphrey was buried. She looked down at the little grave and started to remember of all the adventures they had together. It seemed only yesterday she and him were in a boxcar hitchhiking a ride back to Jasper…
Her reminisce was cut short 由 a commotion at the center of their pack territory. Cando was lying on the ground panting as Hutch stabilized him. “What happened here?” Kate demanded.
Hutch stood forth to give his report, “Cando here was patrolling the outskirts of our territory when he was ambushed.”
“By whom?”
“I’m not sure, I found him crawling slowly on the ground close to the place where we last chased out those timber wolves. Lucky I was there because he was bleeding out.”
由 this time Cando had caught his breath.
“Cando are 你 alright?”
“Ugh, it ain’t nuthin’.”
“What happened to you?”
“Ambushed… 由 those timber wolves…”
Nothing else could have shocked Kate back into action 更多 than to hear that the timber 狼 were back. “Those bastards!” she spat.
“I managed to overhear some of them talking about raiding our territory to massacre everyone sometime in the 下一个 few days.”
“How did 你 hear that?”
“They were pretty talkative after they thought they had shot me down.”
“Thank 你 for this bit of news Cando.”
“Shall we muster our defenses ma’am?” Hutch asked.
“Yes, assign alphas in squads to patrol the perimeter. Tell them to not engage the enemy unless shot at first.”
“Very well ma’am.”
“And send those three that Humphrey was always with to my den.”
Hutch looked at her quizzically but did not 问题 her motives.
Later that evening in her den, Kate was forming a plan with Garth and Lilly.
“What?! 你 want to attack them head on like this?!” Garth asked incredulously.
“Yea, it’s got to be this way. We cannot bring this fight to our home, think of all the elders and children we are protecting.”
“But hitting them straight on like this, I’m a bit scared…” Lilly 说 quietly.
“Oh don’t worry sis, you’ll be covering us from the back as sniper detachment.”
“Still, I’m worried for 你 and I’m not sure if mother would approve.”
“Hey alpha dogs,” Salty, Shakey, and Mooch came through the entrance, “and miss Lilly,” he nodded his acknowledgement to her. “We heard that 你 wanted us.”
“Yea, we’re raiding those timber 狼 tomorrow morning.”
The trio’s jaws dropped, “But… what… that’s crazy. O_O”
“We WILL NOT let them hit us first, so I’m initiating a first strike. 你 want revenge for your friend’s death don’t you?” Although she only wanted to bring an alpha strike force with her, she decided that these three who were close to her Husband deserved to help her enact her vengeance. “Meet us tomorrow morning 由 the pond.” Salty, Shakey, and Mooch exit the den.
Kate walked over the back 墙 and opened a secret cache where she stored her personal arsenal. She took out her own XM8 assault 步枪 and examined it before sliding a magazine into the feeder. On her sides Garth pulled out the ammunition 带, 皮带 from a box magazine and loaded it into his M240 machine gun. Lilly lubed the barrel of her new custom XM109 semi-auto sniper 步枪 and attached a suppressor. One weapon however was not taken. Kate looked sadly down at the M4 马枪, 卡宾枪 with the M203 40mm grenade launcher attachment. It was the only weapon that was missing its wielder as it lay there forlorn and neglected. She remembered how good of a noob-tuber Humphrey was and pushed back tears at his remembrance; this was no time for crying. She put on a M1014 as her secondary, Lilly went with dual Glock-22s, and Garth took his FIM-92 Stinger. Kate took one last look and closed the cache, bid Garth and Lilly good night, and got ready for bed.
An 小时 或者 two before dawn, “Are 你 sure 你 want to do this?” Winston asked solemnly. Kate had just gone over her plans with the elders. Eve went mental and was now lying aside with a dart sticking out of her ass.
“Yes daddy, I don’t want them to get close enough to hurt 你 或者 mom, and before 你 say no I’m not going to let anything stop me from taking revenge.”
“Ah yes that’s right they…” Winston looked sadly at his daughter. Kate pulled on a light armored vest and left the cave.
“Watch over them Garth,” Tony 说 to his son. Garth nodded and left after Kate.
Kate met up with Cando, Hutch, and those who were made to stay behind to direct a defense strategy. “Protect those who are unable to fight and watch out for each other.” Hutch and Cando simultaneously saluted with their UMPs and trotted off.
“All right wolves, arm yourselves!” Cando and Hutch called out. The alphas lined up and took submachine 枪 off their racks; a collection of MP5s, M12s, and other close range guns. P90s, MP7s and other PDW were issued to the omegas. Alphas patrolled out in the open while the omegas camped out in various spots.
Kate met up 由 the pond with Garth, Lilly, Salty, Shakey, Mooch, and several others. Garth wore a heavy vest and hefted his machine gun over one shoulder. Lilly had put on a ghillie suit, it was so bulky that she looked like a turtle. Her 步枪 was slung over her back. Salty, Shakey, and Mooch wore alphas’ gear and had their M16s with grenade launcher attachments. The rest wore standard equipment with a variety of arms. Kate nodded grimly and they set off towards the valley. A short time later they approached the place where the timber 狼 were reported to have made their hideout. Lilly had crept off to set up a good sniping spot. Kate turned on her mini-map and communications.
“Lilly!”
“In position.”
“Garth!”
“Right beside you.”
Kate raised a paw up. A couple of sentries could be seen at their high up posts. They stood there briefly until a couple of coughs issued from Lilly’s suppressed 步枪 and they crumpled. “Sentries are out,” came Lilly’s voice.
Kate raised her paw, “Omegas?”
“Ready.”
Kate dropped her paw in signal. Three foomp’s rang out as Salty, Shakey, and Mooch pre-tubed into the valley.
A few moments later, “UAV Online,” Salty reported.
At first nothing, then red blips pulsed across Kate’s radar. She cocked her assault rifle; the 日 of reckoning had come.
