How do I tell my dad that I 迷失 my keys?

I 迷失 them before Winter break but I will tell him I 迷失 them the 日 before. I'm really scared to tell him though. Especially since I had my house and car keys on there. I am planning on telling him tomorrow when we are in the school parking lot. What should I say 或者 do?
