i think he's just shy. he probably does like you, and he just dosen't want it getting around school 或者 wherever. Try asking him out; it's a good bet he likes you.
If this scenario happened on a 显示 on TV I would say he likes her but doesn't want to be seen with her but in real life it could mean anything he could be joking with 你 to make 你 feel bad 或者 he might really like 你 and what U herd of him telling your friend was a lie just some thoughts

maybe he just doesnt want your 老友记 to know he likes you.or maybe he doesnt want to hurt your feelings.just be yourself.and ask him if he likes 你 或者 not.and tell him not to spare your feelings.it may hurt and it may be a good ending. follow your 心 and trust your friends.(another thing to do is to ask his 老友记 if he likes you)
this guy doesn't like u 或者 if he does he's afraid of committing himself to 1 person.he's an 屁股 who's trying to play u but to find out if he really likes u just talk to him about some1 else that u like and see how he reacts to the whole situation.
well for me he's a talkshit,. but i think he has a crush on 你 too,.coz he would never say he doesnt like u to his friend and for not telling 你 if he has'nt a crush on you,.
