It totally was. Two great bands together. I guess I can't complain though because I've got tickets to see both, they just won't be together.

Right now, Epica are the best in my opinion. Xandria is also pretty good.
And Therion of course. Even though their last two albums were not that satisfying...

I agree, I'm not really a 粉丝 of the sound of most new symphonic metal bands. To me, they're almost.... generic? If that makes sense. WT and NW also indeed have gotten 更多 radio-friendly over the years, not that I mind sometimes (I actually really liked The Unforgiving, DPP and Imaginaerum), but both of their latest albums aren't that satisfying to me (although I can say I adore EFMB's last two tracks). Despite Symphonic Metal being my 最喜爱的 genre, I'm actually quite picky of what bands I listen to because of this. *sighs* And of course I agree about Therion and Epica!
