"Shades of Blue" season 2 cast member Ray Liotta recently talked about the hit NBC series.

In an interview with The Hollywood Reporter, Liotta said that he was immediately on board to join the cast after he read the script of "Shades of Blue" last season.

"I read the script and there were a few surprises in there that really blew my mind... I was serious as a heart attack about making it as real as a series could be," he said.

In the series, Liotta plays the role of Lt. Michael Wozniak, At first glance the character appeared to be very strong and quite villainous. However, Wozniak is also known for always looking after his people.

More specifically, Wozniak has a very close relationship with Harlee Santos (Jennifer Lopez) whom he considers his own daughter.

Talking about his co-star Lopez, Liotta said that the network wanted the actress to be paired with an actor who is known for being very intense with his portrayals of specific roles. After all, Lopez is famous for starring in romantic comedies.

With this, Liotta was ultimately cast alongside Lopez, and their chemistry clicked instantly on and off screen.

Meanwhile, the actor also expressed his excitement over the upcoming filming for "Shades of Blue" season 2.

"I\'m really looking forward to seeing where they\'re gonna go next season..." he said.

When asked if already knows what\'s in store for Wozniak, Liotta failed to divulge any new details.

What he simply said is that he\'s ready to give life to the character to the best of his ability. After all, even though he\'s been in the business for quite some time now, the actor still wants to prove himself to everyone.

"I still feel like I haven\'t gotten my shot. I still have so much more that I want to do," he said.

"Shades of Blue" season 2 will premiere on NBC sometime this year.
