How do 你 feel about automated phone menus/services?

I don't like talking on the phone in general. So I guess I'd prefer automated because it takes the awkwardness out of it.

I find them annoying at times - some of them do not allow 你 to press the menu number before they have gone through their menu list.

But, worst of all I hate voice mail. Now that people have voice mail they just don't bother to answer the phone when they are right there. I hate having to leave a message as I am not sure who will be hearing the message. I find it harder to talk to the voice mail than the person them selves.
