Does regular paint work as Fabric Paint? o3o

I'm Cosplaying as Nepeta Leijon from Homestuck(And maybe a few other Characters, like Karakt Ventas and Feferi Peixes .w.;), and as some of 你 Homestucks may know, she wears a 衬衫 with a Leo symbol on it, and I know that the simple thing to do would be to print out an iron on, but I have no printer 或者 an iron (How do I live? o3o), so, I thought of the 下一个 best thing: to simply paint it on~
But the problem is, I've been to every Target, C.V.S, and Safeway, and I haven't been able to find any Fabric Paint T^T So, I was wondering if regular paint would make do for Fabric paint, 或者 if it would just crack and fall off~? ;3;
