If America hadn't bombed Hiroshima that war would have never ended and I'd be speaking Japanese now.

Everyone knew that a lot of US troops would be killed. Harry S. Truman wanted to avoid that, and at that time, the atomic bomb was tested in a desert in New Mexico, and it was successful. When told about the test, he decided to use the weapon.

That's one of the reasons why American used the atomic bomb on Hiroshima and Nagasaki.
