Should people demand respect even if they don't 显示 respect for other people?

I feel this way,it takes respect to get respect. You're not going to like everyone, but 你 do need to respect. Honestly, I don't believe that 你 should demand it especially when 你 don't respect other people yourself. Don't say 你 respect people when 你 really don't.

Please excuse me if this sounds rude in a way. I don't mean to sound like that 或者 sound sarcastic.
