Mostly because too many girls have straight hair these days, and with it straight you'd look the same as millions of other girls in the world. It bores me.

well that's probably because some girls have naturally straight hair that cannot hold curls
I have naturally straight hair as well. But there are dozens of girls who spend hours straightening their hair just because they think it looks better.
