Well, *spoiler* When Harry Potters Mother died, Harry became Voldemorts horcrux. When he got hit, part of Volde went into Harry. And when she died, Harry became protected with her love, so Voldemort couldn't touch him. Later, Voldemort extracted blood from Harry to make himself come alive, so the protection dissappeared and he could touch him, also, that created a rope between life and death, so he could lated choose to stay dead 或者 come back alive (later). and a whole lot later, Voldemort used the killing curse on Harry and he didn't die because it killed the Voldemort part that was in Harry. Harry had the choice to stay dead 或者 come back alive and beat Voldemort, he decided to defeat Voldemort.
