In the PM wiki says that the Guidebook line on 夏洛特 indicates that it was Charlotte's mother who was ill. One speculation is that her mother loved food, especially cheese and sweets, and often shared them with Charlotte. When Kyubey approached during an emotional moment, 夏洛特 wished to share a cake with her mother one last time. After they ate the cake and the mother died, 夏洛特 realized that she could have wished to cure her mother, and quickly became a witch. Cheese, which 夏洛特 cannot create in her labyrinth, represents her mother.

If this helps at all, Charlotte's barrier appears to be heavily influenced 由 a hospital setting.

I think it could mean the girl could have died in the hospital while fighting a witch 或者 her wish might have been somehow related to something medicinal. I hope this helps!

A theory was raised that 夏洛特 was a young magical girl with cancer. People with cancer cannot eat cheese and she was hospitalised for a long while. I think she was cured when she became a magical girl but it pretty much summed up a majority of her life that's why her labyrinth was based on that.
