The Oct. 4 episode of ‘Once Upon A Time’ began to unravel more clues as to what went down in Camelot and caused Emma to fully embrace being the Dark One. Plus, the gang finally found out where Merlin’s been all this time!

is the season of the Dark Swan, but how did it happen? On the Oct. 4 episode, we learned more of what happened at Camelot, Dark Emma (Jennifer Morrison) taunted Hook (Colin O’Donoghue) with their love, Regina (Lana Parilla) made a major sacrifice for Robin (Sean Maguire) and there may be a new savior in Storybrooke!

The Dwarves were trying to get the heck out of Storybrooke now that Emma was the Dark One. Regina, Snow and Charming tried to stop them. When Sneezy stepped over the line, Sneezy turned into a tree! That was something we hadn’t seen before.

Back in Camelot six weeks ago, Arthur was throwing a ball in honor of the gang’s arrival. Even though the crew was desperately searching for Merlin, Arthur knew exactly where he was — he was stuck inside a tree! Arthur believed the savior could get him out. That’s when Regina stepped up and said 

was the savior. Needless to say, Emma was kind of pissed.

Emma pouted for a hot minute, and Regina told her she was only trying to help. Emma would have had to use dark magic to free Merlin, which would only make her more vulnerable to the dark side. Since she had been dubbed the savior, one of Arthur’s men, Percival, gave Regina a 

nice necklace for the ball. But she didn’t want to go because she didn’t know how to dance! Snow and Charming taught her how, and it was the sweetest thing ever.

Emma and Snow made their grand entrances to the ball looking fabulous. The way Hook looked at Emma was just… everything. When Regina showed up, Robin looked so proud that everyone saw Regina as a hero. During the ball, Charming and Snow realized that Henry had found his first crush. Charming gave him some advice about talking to a girl. Henry walked over to the girl and brought out his iPod so they could listen together. So cute!

Percival came up to Regina during the ball and revealed he knew she was the Evil Queen. He tried to kill her, but Robin stepped in and fought him. Robin got stabbed in the process before Charming ended up killing Percival.

In the present day, Hook went to Belle for advice on how to deal with loving the Dark One. “It’s far easier to hate the Dark One than it is to love one,” Belle said, speaking the truth. Henry called for Emma, and she showed up looking all dark and twisty. He apologized for whatever happened in Camelot. Regina found them by the dock and wanted Henry to get far away from Emma. Regina believed she could be the one to save the town from ruin, but Emma believed there was no way in hell she could.

The crew had been brought back to Storybrooke the same way they’d left it, but they brought Arthur back with them. Regina had to fill him in on what was going on. Charming admitted that Emma had been the Dark One all along when they brought her to Camelot.

While Robin was working in the woods, some type of monster grabbed Robin and took him away! What fresh hell is this? Meanwhile, Hook was lonely and summoned Emma. He was in too deep. He loved her too much to stay away. She brought him to her new place, and he noticed a door. That’s when Emma grabbed him for a steamy makeout session. He thought true love’s kiss would break this darkness, but it didn’t work. Emma got mad that he couldn’t accept her for who she was now, but he got equally angry at her for keeping what went down at Camelot a secret. He was so fed up that he TURNED HER DOWN!

Regina tried to go after the monster, but she got hurt in the process. She was down on her luck. She didn’t think anyone believed she could be the new savior. She went to Rumple and told the comatose former Dark One that she was going to prove everyone wrong. Belle grabbed her and told her than the monster in town was a Fury. Someone had used magic in Camelot and didn’t pay up.

The Fury was in Storybrooke to drag Robin to the underworld when the moon reached the zenith. This could only be stopped if someone gave their life in his place. Regina went to the one person she thought was the reason behind the Fury — Emma. Emma swore it wasn’t because of her — it was actually because of Regina. Back at Camelot, the sword that stabbed Robin was enchanted to kill Regina, so her magic couldn’t save him.

She pleaded with Emma to save Robin. Out of the blue, Rumple showed up and revealed that Regina had to pay the price for the magic. Emma didn’t tell Regina this and saved Robin. Then she kissed Hook hard and said she felt faint. Emma got a taste of the darkness, and she

The Fury began its descent to pull Robin to the underworld. Regina sacrificed herself for Robin, and then Snow, Charming, Leroy and Arthur joined in. All of a sudden, the Fury disappeared. “If anyone’s going to save this town, it’s you,” Leroy declared. Praise!

“We’re going to win this fight,” Charming told a worried Snow while at Granny’s. “If we win, Emma loses,” Snow replied. All the while, Emma was watching from the outside. She went back to her house to mope for a minute before Rumple popped in. She opened up that locked door and went downstairs. She’d brought Excalibur to Storybrooke! Rumple said she could make it whole again and use it to suck out all the light forever. She tried to pull it out of the stone, and it didn’t work. If she was going to pull Excalibur out, she was going to have to pay the price — and it was going to be a big one.
