No 显示 is perfect. Every 显示 has its flaws, and Once Upon A Time is no exception. As much as I 爱情 the 显示 and its unique spin on fairy tales, I feel the need to highlight some of the show’s problems, not to tear it down, but rather to 显示 how the writers could improve on what they already have.
Firstly, Once continually introduces new characters while older characters get push off to the sidelines and forgotten about. What ever happen to Frederick and Abigail? 灰姑娘 and Thomas? What about Nova? I would have thought that the first thing Grumpy would have done once the curse was broken was to go find her…after all he does know where she is now.
And what about the Huntsman? The writers themselves have stated that he is important, calling him the “DNA of the show.” If that’s the case, how come we’ve seen so little of him? I for one want to know 更多 about his background…like how he learned to read, for example. He was raised 由 狼 after all and there could be an interesting story in there.
I 爱情 being introduced to new characters. Captain Hook has made his way into my 心 and he’s my 最喜爱的 villain, but I would much rather the show’s writers stop introducing new characters and start focusing on the ones they’ve already brought to our attention.
The same goes for old plot ideas. While some old 问题 have been answered 或者 are going to be answered soon (such as where is Bae), there are some that we are still in the dark about. For example, the 心 they found. If it isn’t Kathryn’s, then whose is it? There could be a really great episode exploring that very question.
There are also some very serious events that have happened which seem to have served very little purpose in the grand scheme of things. Graham’s death is the biggest example. The only important thing to have really come out of his death, is that Emma is now the sheriff of Storybrooke…and they didn’t need to kill him off for that. Graham has been dead for over a season, and yet he has not been mentioned once since the episode after his death. The way the characters go on and interact with each other, it’s like they forgot he even existed in the first place…and because of that it looks to me like they will never realize that he was in fact murdered and that Regina was responsible, therefore Regina looks to be getting away with it.
Where are the consequences of her killing him? So far we’ve seen the consequences of Cora killing Daniel (the whole curse is a result of that), Rumple killing Milah (Hook’s desire for revenge), and now the “murder” of Archie. But nothing bad has come of killing Graham. If the writers weren’t going to have anything happen because of it, Graham’s death is utterly pointless. I can’t lie, Graham’s my 最喜爱的 character in the entire 显示 and them killing him off was bad enough, but to have it be a pointless death makes it so much worse! It would be easier to bear, if we knew that the writers have planned on resurrecting him, but just recently they have come out and 说 they have no intention of doing any such thing. Therefore, his death has no point and they wasted a perfectly good character.
There are also some inconsistencies. For one thing, both the characters and the writers have stated several times that magic in Storybrooke is much different than magic in the 着魔 Forest. The only evidence we’ve had of this is when Regina was having a hard time using magic in the 秒 episode of the 秒 season, but since then, magic in both worlds seem to be 表演 the exact same. If magic is 更多 temperamental in our world than in the FTL, they should 显示 that. Play around with it. It would be interesting to see!
Another inconsistency is how Graham is even dead in the first place. Someone recently pointed out to me that Regina killed Graham with a magical heart…in a land that was without magic. How is that even possible? It would be nice to get some sort of explanation.
All that being said, I 爱情 the 显示 and I hope the writers will fix some of this problems in coming episodes/seasons.
