She closed her eyes as though to try and stop it all. As though to ease away all the pain. Her back hurt from lying in 床, 床上 all 日 and her whole body ached from the medicines being shot through her veins. She looked out the window pane with sad eyes as the people who saw her could notice the unbearable pain she was going through. She was in so much pain almost 日 and night. She prayed that she would recover and slowly but surely, her prayers were almost coming through. Ellie had survived the cut… the pain… the misery of it all. She was slowly healing.
Elizabeth Katherine Wyatt stood at the porch as she watched the sun slowly come up. She loved the way the dark sky slowly brightened as the sun slowly crept. She did it almost every morning as though it been a habit for her. Then she would run back inside the house and tell her father what she had just seen. “Father, it is just amazing! It’s so beautiful! I wish 你 could have seen it!” Ellie beamed at her father. Her long blond hair with soft curls cascading over her shoulders and her bright blue eyes made people stop and stare at her. She was the young age of 17 and yet she seemed to scare most people with her untamed beauty. She was just too beautiful. Men were falling head-over-heels for her although her father had forbidden her to go out with guys. She was young, delicate, and sweet. One morning, Ellie woke up with her head in extreme pain and she suddenly had it difficult to breathe. She tried to ignore it through breakfast. “Good morning father. Good morning mother” she greeted politely as she kissed them both on the cheek. “Hey, 你 look so disgusting!” her brother Nicholas, teased. “Shut up Nick” she hissed at her brother. “Now now, no fighting at the table. Ellie dear, are 你 alright? 你 don’t look well” her mother Olivia 说 with worried eyes. “Nothing’s wrong mother. I just hadn’t had a good sleep that’s all, and a little
dizzy. If you’ll excuse me, I don’t feel like having breakfast today” she 说 trying to look fine as she walked back into her room. She felt really dizzy now as she carefully walked back upstairs, bobbing back and forth. She hadn’t gone downstairs again until later that afternoon for lunch. She was really having difficulty in breathing and her mother seemed to notice. “Sweetie are 你 sure you’re alright? 你 look as though you’re not well” Olivia 说 worriedly. “No mother. I feel fine” she 说 confidently, breathing heavily. But her words betrayed her as she suddenly fell on the floor unconscious. “Ellie!” Olivia shrieked. “Nick, get the car quick!” Brad her father, shouted as he carried her in his arms. Her brother ran as fast as he could to get the car and although his frequent teasing, it showed in his eyes how he truly cared for his sister. He was back with the car a 分钟 later as his parents tried everything they could to wake up Ellie. They hurriedly took her to the hospital and a 分钟 they arrived there, Brad handed Ellie to the doctor. They took her to the emergency room and the three of them were told to sit in the waiting room until the doctor came back with the results. They sat quietly there as Olivia silently sobbed. “Oh Ellie…my Ellie” she sobbed. Brad took Olivia’s hand in his and patted it gently. “Sshhh…don’t cry…she’ll be alright…the doctor is doing everything he can” he 说 softly. Nicholas 说 nothing at all. He was only worried about his little sister. An 小时 later, the doctor came and told them the results. “She has what?!” Brad 说 surprisingly. “She has a tumor in her lungs. Stage 1 lung cancer to be exact. If we don’t remove it now, it will grow bigger until it would be too difficult to remove. So we are advising 你 that we need to remove that tumor as soon as possible” the doctor 说 in a serious tone, feeling very sorry for them. His son had also died of colon cancer a 年 以前 because his wife never agreed to let him have a surgery to remove the tumor so he died quietly in his hospital bed. “I’m very sorry Mr. Wyatt” the doctor 说 sympathetically. “Thank 你 for telling us doctor” Brad 说 sorrowfully as he shook the doctor’s hand. “She has lung cancer? And she needs surgery? Brad we don’t have that kind of money. What are we going to do?” Olivia cried as Brad pulled her into his arms. “There there, we’ll figure something out. I promise” he 说 as tears rolled down his cheeks and they both cried. “Dad maybe the media can help us” Nicholas suggested, as tears filled his eyes. “How?” Olivia asked puzzled. “We go to news stations 或者 even radio stations and tell them about Ellie and how she needs surgery but we need financial help. And they’ll spread the news to everyone” Nicholas explained. And the 下一个 日 they did just that. They went to news and radio stations and told them about Ellie and how they needed help to put her in surgery. The people who worked there were touched 由 the story and promised to help them and a week later, Ellie’s face was all over town, asking… begging for help. Brad, Olivia, and Nicholas watched as people appeared in their room leaving small amounts of money. The three cried as they watched Ellie sleeping peacefully in her hospital bed. She was still unconscious from the 日 they arrived there and they were getting worried about her 更多 and more. They held each other tight and grieved for Ellie. One thing was clear, they were all afraid to lose her.

Ryan White, symbol of justice
或者 child of innocence, messenger of love
Where are 你 now, where have 你 gone?
Ryan White, I miss your sunny days
We carelessly frolicked in extended plays
I miss you, Ryan White
I miss your smile, innocent and bright
I miss your glory, I miss your light
Ryan White, symbol of contradiction
Child of Irony, 或者 child of fiction?
I think of your shattered life
Of your struggle, of your strife
While ladies dance in the moonlit night
Champage parties on charted cruises
I see your wasted form, your ghostly sight
I feel your festering wounds, your battered bruises
Ryan White, symbol of agony and pain
Of ignorant fear gone insane
In a hysterical society
With free-floating anxiety
And feigned piety
I miss you, Ryan White
你 showed us how to stand and fight
In the rain 你 were the cloudburst joy
The sparkle of hope in every girl and boy
In the depths of your anguished sorrow
Was the dream of another tomorrow

A poem I dedicated to Michael .
I woke up one day, I found at 你 were gone
and now I'm sitting here listening to
this sad song.
When I look at the sky at night, I wonder
If I could see 你 one 日 in heaven, I can
Feel your presence seven days a week, you’re
In my dreams, they seem to be real until I wake up
And my 心 is hurting
Wherever 你 are, I feel 你 close no matter
How far 或者 how near
Why did 你 go? One 日 I will know,
你 never 说 goodbye,
There must be a reason why, that’s why I cry
I woke up one day, I found at 你 were gone
and now I'm sitting here listening to
this sad song.
When I look at the sky at night, I wonder
If I could see 你 one 日 in heaven, I can
Feel your presence seven days a week, you’re
In my dreams, they seem to be real until I wake up
And my 心 is hurting
Wherever 你 are, I feel 你 close no matter
How far 或者 how near
Why did 你 go? One 日 I will know,
你 never 说 goodbye,
There must be a reason why, that’s why I cry
