How can female sociopaths be depicted in a feminist way?
I've just been thinking about how feminists often criticize depictions of women doing things like lying about rape and exploiting societal obligations. Now, this is something real sociopaths do. Dr. Robert 野兔 thinks that due to gender roles, psychologists have been reluctant to diagnose women as having Antisocial Personality Disorder (sociopathy) but that there are just as many sociopathic women as men, who just get misdiagnosed as having Narcissistic Personality Disorder 或者 Borderline Personality Disorder. He also appreciates a lot of these depictions feminists typically complain about because they warn people about female sociopaths.
I think as feminists, we should recognize female sociopathy and encourage its accurate depiction, but have this be done so in a feminist way. I'm just not sure how to do that 给 that there are these bad stereotypes about women that are based on the behavior of sociopaths. I'm thinking as two main conditions, have it that the sociopath is definitely a sociopath and not just a disturbed woman with a good side deep down (as with Siobhan in Ringer), and not have the character devoted to a man (as with Yuno in Future Diary, seen in the image) with a distinction made for accurate selfish obsession with acquiring someone as a possession and not truly caring about him. What do 你 folks think?
