“So, you’re saying Stefan’s behind it?” Caroline asked breathless. “I don’t know. I hope not, but we can’t ignore the possibility that he could’ve” Damon 说 being realistic. Elena threw her arms around her knees, looking pale. “I don’t know, Damon” Caroline said. “It didn’t look very professional. I mean, when 你 feed on humans 你 erase your traces. This vampire didn’t. The body was still there and the blood wasn’t cleaned up. I don’t think this vampire has been doing this a lot” Elena looked up with a hopeful expression on her face. “So, there’s still a chance Stefan has nothing to do with it. That’s good. As long as he doesn’t kill anyone, no damage has been done” she said. Damon shook his head. “What?” Elena asked, a little annoyed. She felt like Damon was going to ruin her renewed hope. “Even if Stefan didn’t kill that person, still someone had to turn the vampire that did. There aren’t that many 吸血鬼 in Mystic Falls” Damon said, trying to put Elena back on the ground. Elena averted to Katherine. “Maybe she did it” she said, nodding at her vampire look-a-like. Katherine widened her eyes. She walked towards Elena, lifting her hand to slap her, but Damon grabbed her wrist and put himself between Elena and Katherine. “You’re not touching her” he 说 soft but threatening. He turned at Elena. “You should be careful with your accusations. We need her” “Oh, but 你 can accuse Stefan?” Elena 说 upset. “I’m not accusing him” Damon said. “I just want 你 to keep your eyes open and not be blinded 由 your…love for him” “As should you” Elena shot back. “You don’t know if 你 can trust Katherine” “She didn’t do it” Damon sighed. “How would 你 know?” Elena 说 disdainful. “Oh, right, I forgot! 你 have been bonding with her. You’re now close friends, so 你 tell each other everything” Damon frowned his eyebrows and exchanged an uncomprehending look with Katherine. “Where’s this coming from?” he asked slowly. Katherine smirked. “Yeah, I’m dying to hear it” she said. Caroline looked from Elena to Damon and back as if she was watching a 网球 game. Elena swallowed and put her hands on Damon’s upper arms. “I don’t trust her” she started. “She played with you. She used your 爱情 for her. She put 你 through so much pain, missing her, thinking she was locked up. But she never cared about you. She didn’t care you’ve been hurting for 145 years. She didn’t care 你 wanted to die when 你 thought she was dead”
Damon took her hands in his and looked her deep in the eye. “I 爱情 你 for caring about me. I wouldn’t know what to do without you. But I could never fall for her all over again, while I’m loving you” He brought her hands to his lips and kissed her fingers. Elena felt how her 心 beat fiercely. It felt like everything around them faded away and they were the only two people on the universe.
“Uhum” Katherine coughed. Damon let go of Elena and they turned around. “You’re having an audience”

“Gerard committed suicide last night” Zoey said. “I found him hanging in our bedroom”
Daphne covered her mouth. “Oh my God, that’s…awful” she said
Daphne threw her arms around Zoey and Zoey faked a few tears and sobs. She pushed Daphne away and 说 she had to tell Alexia. She put her 钱包 on the dresser, knowing Daphne would see the letter and be too curious to leave it where it is.
And indeed, a 分钟 later, Daphne stormed outside, hysterically crying how everything was her fault.
Zoey walked back inside, trusting Daphne would need some time to calm down. She opened Daphne’s computer and connected a portable hard drive to it. The hard drive contained a fake video of Cas doing things with Alexia.
Zoey copied the video to Daphne’s files and then removed the hard drive. She closed the computer and called Alexia.
“Let’s go, Lex” she said. “We’re going to your grandparents”

The 下一个 morning.
Zoey was talking with the mortician, while Alexia was watching cartoons. At least Zoey was under the impression Alexia was watching cartoons. Until her little girl let out a shriek.
“Mommy!”
Zoey, scared something had happened to Alexia, jumped up and ran into the sitting room. Alexia was staring at the screen.
“Lex, what’s going on? 你 almost gave mommy a 心 attack” Zoey 说 and swallowed a few times to calm down.
“Mommy, come look” Alexia 说 breathless. “Uncle Emmanuel is on TV”
Zoey rushed to the 电视 and increased the volume.
“Last night the police arrested a man named Castiel for the abuse of a four 年 old girl” the newsreader said.
“Alexia, go play outside” Zoey 说 trembling.
“Why do they call him Castiel, mommy? His name’s Emmanuel” Alexia 说 confused.
“Now!” Zoey yelled and Alexia ran outside.

The door of Meg’s motel room opened and Meg stared at the door way. She was still stuck under the Key of Solomon.
“Anna told me 你 were innocent for a change” Sam said.
“Well, now that you’ve discovered I’m actually a saint, could 你 get me out of here?” Meg suggested. Sam shook his head and walked towards her, though kept a 安全 distance. “First I want to set a few things straight. Castiel is not going to leave prison, unless 你 do something. Personally, I don’t care if 你 killed that man 或者 not. What I do care about is that you’re the only one who can get him out of there” Sam said.
“Why would I help him? What’s in it for me?” Meg wanted to know.
“If 你 do the right thing, then I guarantee 你 Dean and I will never try to kill 你 again. You’ll be off our radar for good” Sam said.
That was a tempting offer. “What do 你 want me to do?” she asked.
