Golden Globes 2015: Eddie Redmayne wins Best Actor for Theory Of Everything and a kiss from wife Hannah

The 33-year-old beat off fellow Brit Benedict Cumberbatch to win the award

Brit star Eddie Redmayne took home the coveted Best Actor in a Drama award at the Golden Globes on Sunday evening.

The 33-year-old beat off his fellow British actors Benedict Cumberbatch and David Oyelow to win the prize, which he collected in front of new wife Hannah Bagshawe.

Eddie won for his portrayal of Stephen Hawking in The Theory Of Everything.

In his acceptance speech he thanked Hawking as well as Felicity Jones who plays his wife in the film.

As he made his way back to his seat he was greeted with a kiss from new wife Hannah - who looked stunning in a moss green dress.

Speaking about the evening on the red carpet the actor - who played Marius Pontmercy in the 2012 musical film of Les Miserables - said: "It’s so crazy. It always feels like the first time you’ve gone down the red carpet."

When asked how married life is treating him, he said: "Very well. We literally got married just before Christmas. The honeymoon was cut short, I promised her some sun."

And when questioned about his incredible transformation into Stephen Hawking, he admitted:" It was a long process. It was about four months.

"Hannah had to deal with me struggling to understand the astronomy. It was a real eduction."
