Would anyone explain the whole Matt Smith era storyline please?

Me and my family are really confused. I think I understand bits of it but I'm not sure if they are right anymore. Also, is this long storyline over yet 或者 is there 更多 to look out for. It would REALLY help if anyone could explain. Thanks

I'd like explanations too. They stretched it out for so long, it was easy to forget details and get mixed up. Especially if you, like me, don't make a habit of rewatching older episodes and seasons.
