Why has Hook aged?

Ok, so 你 know how the latest 小叮当 film includes a young captain hook? And then in the original peter pan, hook's old? How the heck is that possible, cause Hook lives in neverland, but 你 can't age there, so why has he? I hope this makes sense, cause I had to rush this question. :(
