This one's nice, but a bit vague

Being positive isn't always the best thing. And it can blind you sometimes from important realities.

What is really important to people varies, varies, varies. TPATF basically says you can be as ambitious as you want, screwing over other people to attain what you want--- and yet, these same people you screwed over are supposed to love you, anyway.

Bad suggestion.

^ Wait, when does Tiana screw over anyone? And I kinda think you're misinterpreting the main point of the movie. Tiana spent so much time chasing after a dream that she began to ignore the love and support everyone had for her. She realized that there was more to life than just her goal, and the moral's supposed to show that you have to take all things into consideration, not just your dream.

As a pessimist, I think we need both pessimists and optimists in the world. I think it is a wrong moral

wavesurf picked Never lose sight of what is really important! (The Princess and the Frog):
Basically, Tiana gets her way, mostly. I mean, yes, in the end after she "wakes up" to the fact that work isn't the only thing--- she finally SEES that there are other people in her life, not just her dream. But Tiana basically has very little in the way of people skills. She has no emotional intelligence: she never apologizes to Ray, or to Charlotte for making it difficult for their dreams to also come true. I guess the back-biting Tiana gets from Naveen is kind of warranted, because she is difficult to get along with. You can't tell her anything, because she already knows such and such.

Honestly, I guess the only person who got through to Tiana was Dr. Facilier. If Dr. Facilier hadn't made Tiana remember her dad, then she would still be acting the same way she had all along. In the end, I just feel like this moral is not very good. It glorifies a character who treated other people with disdain, and who is still rewarded with what they wanted all along. Cinderella worked every bit as hard as Tiana, and wasn't nearly as disdainful as Tiana is.

This sends the wrong message, imo. Besides, it is way too vague a moral to make much sense anyway. What people may consider really important completely varies from person to person. So people have to keep "defining" what is really important over and over and over again.

UnholyNoise picked Be yourself! (Aladdin):
super-duper vague, and i'm sorry, but there are a lot people with offensive/terrible personalities who should not be themselves.

also, the moral of PATF as stated here is pretty vague too, though I still disagree that this is in fact the central moral...

The Pocahontas one should read: The only way to have peace is to ACCEPT others.

Also, I do have slight issue with the moral in TPATF. Wouldn't a more accurate moral be - work hard and you will be rewarded?

Just my thoughts. Regardless, this is the weakest moral.

anukriti2409 picked Always keep a positive attitude! (Snow White and the 7 dwarves):
being positive doesn't really work out in all the situations. Sometimes, you need to be a pessimist to not take decisions in just good hope and not really working out the possibilities.

Really vague, and again, this moral doesn't work with some people. Some people have horrible personalities (selfish, immature, likes harming others), would we encourage them to keep being themselves? I understand if this message goes directed to things we can't completely change, like our backgrounds or our looks, but in cases like this...

You don't have to be a negative nelly but constant positivity gets annoying real quick.

I just don't think that this is much of a lesson for the audience to learn. I mean, it's said in the movie, but I think of it more as a message than an actual lesson.
