How the heck did John and Beast leave before him?

How many times do I have to explain this before this useless piece of bland undeveloped damsel leaves? He gets captured by Maleficent and is unable to escape until the fairies come to rescue him. Actually the fairies concur all the obstacles that he has to go through: arrows (turned into flowers), boulders (turned into bubbles), and some kind of deadly liquid (turned into a rainbow). He even needs help when his cape gets hooked on some thorns because the idiot didn't get the message from Edna Mode from The Incredibles about "NO CAPES!!!!!!". Also for those voting for Eric I'd like to point out that he killed Ursula on his own, with no help at all, and Phillip didn't. If it wasn't for the fairies enchanting the sword at the last minute Phillip would've been barbecued and eaten. He's not the real hero of the movie, the fairies are. They saved Aurora from dying, they protected her for 16 years (though failed on the last day), rescued Phillip, concurred all the obstacles, and are the reason that the villain was defeated, not him. I'll admit Eric is not that heroic or capable of saving himself but he's still pretty heroic, especially since he defeated the villain, I'm actually surprised they didn't have Ariel save the day. Phillip should've left before the Beast did, at least he saved Belle on his own. Phillip is actually more of a damsel than Aurora, the biggest damsel of the Disney Princesses. She's not even that big of a damsel, at least she has an excuse, she's hypnotized in one scene and asleep for most of the movie.

How is John a damsel?

I said before- Ariel needs to rescue him twice and he's not that heroic.

As for Phillip, he couldnt help that the fairies helped him. Besides, it was he who actually defeated her.

No offense but do you really thing that sword, which is like a toothpick to a giant dragon, would actually kill Maleficent if it wasn't enchanted? It didn't even hit her heart, that is if she has one.

Eric and Phillip are in the same boat. Both got saved a few times, and CHOSE to save their loves, so Eric is heroic for doing that, especially when he did not have to. Phillip got help with every single thing in the final battle. Flora cast the spell on the sword to make sure that it kills Maleficent off, so even that is taken from him. He did not succeed in a heroic act on his own, which is why he should leave before Eric.

Yeah I think that's probably why Ariel didn't get to save the day, because they thought Eric would just be thought of as just some damsel in distress and not very memorable. Though if they did have Ariel do it they would've saved Ariel from all the criticism she gets because it would show that she really realized her mistakes (though I think she did) and show that she makes mistakes but she'll fix them. Oh well, no fixing that now. Despite how much I love Eric I think I might vote for him afterwards. I'm starting to realize that a lot of these princes aren't really that heroic. The only one I think is really heroic is Aladdin, there are others that are heroic as well, but he's definitely the strongest and most capable of saving others and himself. in my opinion.
