He does 爱情 Stefan, but I think that somehow their bond will stay intact no matter what. Hopefully it will all work out. xP I'm hoping that Stefan will fall back in 爱情 with Katherine, 或者 just fall for someone new.
I think that the delay and build up will continue; I agree with both of you. Elena needs some time alone to deal with her feelings, and Damon will hesitate after being hurt before, because he worries if Elena is still confused, and because of his 爱情 for Stefan. We could get something of DE shortly, because so many pessimists complain 或者 even quit, but everything about Delena took its time so far, and I doubt that that will change; every step brings Delena closer to ending up together before there is another postponement to delay that final DE union. The postponements and obstacles are two important points that make the Delena 爱情 story so special and unique, and I don't see DE getting REALLY together too soon. The story leads to the Delena endgame, and I really hope for a Steferine endgame as well - although DE are of course most important.

Found this & its just depressing: Paul Wesley States in this interview that he knows they’re (Stefan & Elena) the romantic 爱情 story in the entire series.
In an interview with Bullett Media, Paul Wesley reacts to the Stelena breakup which sent the fandom into a frenzy two weeks ago.
He says that while Elena being a vampire will have an effect on their future relationship, “Maybe there’s a way to salvage the relationship and go back to normal".
However, Wesley adds that, “I hope they never go back to the way they were. People change, and I know they’re the romantic 爱情 story in the entire series, but I do believe potentially that they can find a different kind of romance that isn’t as naive as it was before.”.
So even if they get together it will be to break the souls, spirits, & hearts of all Delena shippers!!! :-( grrrrrrh
