I'm going to 列表 the strengths and weaknesses of each 芭比娃娃 heroine. I'm not including the "real" Barbie, such as 芭比娃娃 in 芭比娃娃 Diaries, Fashion Fairytale, Fairy Secret, 或者 Perfect 圣诞节 (I really can't say anything about her). I will have only 5 heroines in one article. This part starts with Clara and ends with Erika, but don't worry, because I'll continue with Part 2 which starts with Elina.
1. Clara
Strength: dutiful, kind, clever, brave, loyal, family-oriented
Orphaned since young, Clara lives with her strict grandfather and her brother Tommy. She loves her family and is respectful to her grandfather, though she dreams of having adventures like her world-traveling Aunt Elizabeth. As she joins the Nutcracker to Parthenia, we see her good traits: kind (to the children, to Captain Candy), clever (she tricked the 老鼠, 鼠标 King's guards), and 《勇敢传说》 (she rescued her 老友记 all 由 herself). And she discovers herself to be the Sugarplum Princess, who, it has been foretold, will defeat the 老鼠, 鼠标 King.
Weakness: goes to adventure only because she wants her normal size back, almost deserts her friends
Though Clara loves adventures, at first she doesn't want to go to the 老鼠, 鼠标 hole with the Nutcracker. She only follows him because she wants to return to her original size. And when the Nutcracker, Major Mint, and Captain 糖果 are captured, she thinks of going home. "I have some doll clothes that would fit." Fortunately, Clara dismisses that thought and goes to the 老鼠, 鼠标 King's palace to save her 老友记 and the whole kingdom!
2. Rapunzel
Strength: creative, hardworking, optimistic, patient, forgiving, kind, clever
Rapunzel has to live with the evil sorceress Gothel since she was a baby. She is treated like a servant, so she has to clean Gothel's large mansion all 由 herself. However, living such a hard life doesn't make Rapunzel bitter. She enjoys herself painting and spending time with Penelope and Hobie. She's always optimistic that she can get out from the tower. And she's clever too -- she doesn't want Stefan to tell her his name so she can't tell it to Gothel. In the end, she shows her kindness 由 her willingness to forgive Gothel.
Weakness: a little bit careless
It's hard to find her weakness, but I'd say Rapunzel's a tiny bit careless. She forgets to wipe the paint off her face so that Gothel knows she has been painting. And she forgets about Otto's spying habit when she dresses up for Stefan's masquerade.
3. Odette
Strength: family-oriented, contented, kind, self-sacrificing, caring, brave
Odette loves family very much and is contented with her life as a baker's daughter. Unlike her sister Marie, who likes to go on stage, the shy Odette has no dream to perform to people, though she's a great dancer. She shows her kindness 由 releasing Lila from the cord although she doesn't know who 或者 what Lila is. When she realizes that she's now a part of the 着魔 Forest, she's willing to help them. And she's caring too -- she doesn't want Daniel's soldiers to get hurt fighting Rothbart, and she asks Daniel to send word to her family. And though she's shy and timid, she bravely faces the powerful Rothbart. She also covers Daniel from Rothbart's attack.
Weakness: too timid (at first), gets very devastated when she sees Daniel dancing with Odile
At first, Odette is very timid. She doesn't want to help the Enchantress save the Forest even though she's the one who can do it, because she thinks she's not the right person. And she also loses her mind when she sees Daniel dancing with Odile, instead of looking for ways to tell him she's still a 天鹅 (because it's not sunset yet). But Odette fights off her weaknesses and finds out that she's braver than she thinks.
4. Anneliese
Strength: clever, dutiful, quick-witted, hopeful, creative, caring
Being a princess doesn't make Anneliese spoiled 或者 selfish 或者 vain. She loves to read and study, and her knowledge is vast and useful. Anneliese also knows her duty as a princess (protecting and caring for her people) and tries to do it, even though she has to marry an unknown king. But when she's kidnapped so she can't meet King Dominick, she uses her quick mind to escape from the forest. When, once again, she's trapped in the mine with Julian, she believes there's a way to escape and her clever mind once again saves her. She's also creative and caring. She doesn't have to marry Dominick to feed the people -- the gems she finds in the mine are 更多 than enough to save the kingdom!
Weakness: doesn't do anything to prevent the arranged marriage (at first), lies to escape from the forest shanty
Anneliese just accepts the fact that she'll be married to Dominick even though she doesn't know him and though she's in 爱情 with Julian. She only performs her duty, but marriage is a very important affair and she should think of her happiness too. If she has to do it only to save the kingdom, she should persuade her mother to give her time to reconsider and then looks for other ways to save the kingdom than through marriage. She also lies about seeing a ghost (actually Serafina) to Nick and Nack, but that can be understood because she only wants to escape from that house.
5. Erika
Strength: hardworking, caring, loyal, hopeful, having a high dream
Erika works very hard to pay her parents' debt to Madame Carp. Yet she finds time to do her hobby: singing. She also dreams of being a famous singer. Though Erika lives a hard life, she's still nice and caring. She wants to help Julian and Anneliese, whom she knows only a little. She enjoys being the princess, but she realizes it isn't her rightful place and often feels uneasy about it. In the end, she has become a famous singer, but her 爱情 for Dominick urges her to return.
Weakness: lying (though for a good cause)
It's not Erika's initiative, but Julian's. Erika realizes that pretending to be the princess is a serious crime, for which she can be imprisoned "or worse." She does it anyway, because she wants to help Julian and Anneliese. Still, a lie is a lie, and she's finally found out. But Erika's good motive and Dominick's 爱情 save her from being punished forever.
