I've always wanted to ask this question...why is the 标题 of this story "Another"? Wacky grammar? To make it 更多 interesting-sounding?

Well, in Class 3-3 after the incident 26 years ago, there was always an extra person. 'Another' is the 标题 to convey the fact that there was always ANOTHER person. It can also be used to say that there was a ANOTHER death amongst those related to Class 3-3.

another just means the surplus dead
