Vocaloid Terminologies...HELP!!!

It's been a 月 since I got addicted to Vocaloid and up until now I can't understand the ff. terminologies:

- PV
- Append
- 40 meters

So... could 你 please explain it to me?

Append seems to be versions of some 初音未来 that sound 更多 realistic.
