日本动漫问题

Should I say to my 老友记 that I'm watchin ANIME?

I've never 说 to my 老友记 that I'm watchin 日本动漫 because they're sayin it's just crap.
for example one of my 老友记 say that 神奇宝贝 is just crap, he is drawin and makin fun of it all the time.
I watched Digimon one time when an anoter friend of mine came in to my room, we should do homework together at my house then digimon was on and he asked me if I watched it, but I said: just when I'm bored...
I 说 it to him so he would'nt begin laugthin of me.
