Why does Pein have so many piercings? They make him look ugly.

It's so Nagato can control him. He uses them to send his chakra into pein and the others. They all have piercings.

because the piercings act as rods that attract chakra.

well he has them because they have many uses: controling, weapons, and they hold 或者 do something with chakra 或者 something like that..... weather 或者 not ppl think he is ugly is their own opinion and i don't really care..... its Masashi Kishimoto's desigin so i like it <3

i'm not that sure but i think it's so Nagato can control him and other uses like:nwepons,chakra,the paths of pain 或者 something like that.but if u think he looks ugly well that's what u think i think he pretty cool myself,some people 爱情 piercings some people hate them some people just like them.u may think he looks ugly but i think he's pretty cute myself.(but not as cute and hot as Deidara-Sempai and Sasori-Dana and Hidan(yes i think Hidan's cute/hot u got a problem with that))
