“Shake It Up’s” Zendaya is enjoying her “Dancing with the Stars” experience and here, in her 秒 blog, exclusive to AccessHollywood.com, she shares details from behind the scenes, while preparing for Week 2 of the 显示 with her partner, Valentin Chmerkovskiy.

Hi Access Hollywood readers and all my ZSwaggers!

Last week’s premiere was an amazing experience. I still can’t believe we topped the leaderboard with our first dance! I 爱情 performing and being on stage, but I was so nervous to perform live. I haven’t felt those nerves in so long. It was crazy and exciting.

Now it’s Week 2 and I feel like I have a lot to prove. We are dancing the Jive! The dance is so quick and full of lots of spins and fast foot movement. I’ve fallen so many times I’ve 迷失 count. (Thanks Mom for catching it on video!)


I think contemporary was a great dance to begin with because it allowed me to break hold and relax a little, but the jive is definitely a reality check! This dance is so detailed and I really have to watch my posture. Good thing I have the posture police (Val) as my partner!!!

Val has been such a great mentor. He’s a strict teacher, which is exactly what I wanted. I need someone who pushes me to be my very best and believe me, he’s been pushing me!


On 最佳, 返回页首 of rehearsal and school, Val and I also took a break to spend some time with kids at Children’s Hospital of 橙子, 橙色 County (CHOC) and also went to the Kids’ Choice Awards. Thankfully we didn’t get slimed. It has been an exhausting and busy week, but it’s so worth it!
