Kyra knew it was hard to grasp. The fact that she was stuck. In the middle of a fundraiser. With no one but her brother. Bruce wasn't there, damn him. And now Dick was gone. Just. Gone. What the hell, Dick. What in the freaking hell. She hated this kind of thing, always had. She remembered when she and Dick were little, and they'd just began their life with Bruce. The secret part was awesome, but the other part- well, one thing that Dick had 评论 on at the very first fundraiser was,
"Now I know why the Joker's insane. Because smiling so much makes 你 go crazy!"
She had laughed so hard. They were still hand in hand twins, able to finish each other sentences and know what the other was thinking. Except now she liked her hair out of her face. And up when she was fighting.
3 hours, 2 hours, 1 hour. Finally, she could get out of this goddamn dress. She rushed to the bathroom and changed into blue jeans and a normal tee. She flicked on her sunglasses and placed her thick black hair under a fedora and walked out of the hall into the blackened night's grasp. She could feel the eyes on her back, Batman's eyes. He always had been protective, especially when he knew that Kyra was going to be walking 首页 alone. Kyra shoved her hands in her pockets and walked on, ignoring the glaring light in the night sky. But she didn't feel very safe, even with the streetlamps and dark knight of Gotham protecting her. She felt... uneasy, like something big was about to happen...
A hand grasped her shoulder and the training she'd received as Phoenix kicked in. She flipped the person onto their back and assumed a fighting stance.
"Yeesh, Kyra, what the hell?" her brother called from the concrete.
"Oh. Sorry, Dick." Kyra reached down and pulled Dick from the sidewalk. "You, of all people, should know not to do that. Especially at 10 p.m. In the middle of a dimly lit street. And it's just me."
"Sorry, sorry."
The two walked down the sidewalks alone. The streetlights suddenly switched off. All of them just flicked off. "What in the- oof!" Dick was cut off and groaned, but when Kyra turned towards him, he was gone. There was a blow delivered to her stomach and she collapsed. And there wasn't any eyes watching over her.

Chapter 8-

The two bats and a bird fired their grappling lines at the ceiling, Artemis following their example. Robin grabbed Kid Flash and Batgirl Zatanna, dragging them onto the walkway.

"Well, well." Joker said. "The 蝙蝠侠 does it again."

"And the Batgirl." Barbara added.

Joker cackled. "Well come and get me then!" he said.

Zatanna muttered a spell and threw objects at Joker. Artemis shot arrows. The two bats threw batarangs at the madman while the little bird swung across the gap in the walkway. The junior speedster sped across the gap and joined his friend in close combat.

As we walked through the halls of WayneTech, we exchanged nothing but silence. The 前一个 predicament still left us shaking, and now we were out to 搜索 for more. It was obvious that Scarecrow knew of our presence, which is why he had the gas sprayed all over the building. Every now and then I heard rats squeaking, glass breaking, and spiders crawling, but none of them so much as gave me a start.
Oddly enough, Robin knew his way around the building. Without getting lost, we retrieved and destroyed much of the fear serums, but we weren't done unless we found Scarecrow.
